Hooked Bassmasters had our first tournaments of the year for 2026 this past week, 5/7 & 8, on the beautiful Lake Anna in Virginia. Firstly, a huge shoutout to the Highpoint Marina - Lighthouse Inn on Lake Anna. The inn featured waterfront rooms, with boat slips in the water (if you chose to use them), direct access to the ramp in the same lot, and a small store with fishing gear, food, drinks, etc, open before takeoff every morning till late for whatever you need. Truly a top class experience and we cannot thank them enough for their hospitality! They even gave us a shoutout on their sign out front of the marina with a welcome message! We highly recommend reaching out to them if you want a relaxing and fun stay with convenience and good fishing. The fishing went well with everyone putting together solid limits. Most fish seemed to be post spawn, with water temps hovering around 67-68 both days. Day 1 featured overcast skies, with periods of showers and a NE wind. Day 2 started frigid after the rain, with morning lows starting at 44 degrees, but build to the mid 70s during the day with blue skies and a predominently southwest wind. Day 1 was lead by Mike Iannuzzi putting together our best bag of the 2 days with 19.58 lbs! Stellar bag! 2nd place Randy Baran Jr. put together 17.10 lbs for a solid showing. Rounding out the top 3 was Jim Browne with over 12.64 lbs, and our Day 1 lunker of 5.08! Stud! On the rider side, day one was taken by the great Steve Lang with 5 fish for 9.77 lbs! Great work! 2nd was Joanna Bavuso with 2 fish for 2.84 lbs. Day 2, fishing was tougher with lighter overall bags, but we had a new face storm onto the scene, with Raymond Jones coming in for the win in his first ever tournament week! He came in with 13.59 lbs, AND brought in lunker with a 5.15 lb stud! Awesome work Ray! 2nd place was Mike I with 13.44 lbs, followed by Randy Jr with 13.12 lbs. Close bags for the day! The rider side was won by JoJo with 5 fish for 7.98 lbs, and 2nd was Ed K with 4 fish for 5.61 lbs. What a tournament to start the year! The scenery was great, the accomodations even better, and the time spent together was a blast! As always, a huge shoutout to our sponsors, Jim Schmucker's Fiberglass & Gelcoat Repair Mark Lindsay and Son Plumbing & Heating, Inc. Keitech USA Bizz Baits N&B Marine Supply , without all of their support, we would not be able to do what we do! Message them or us on anything you may need from them!

Welcome to the 2026 Hooked Bassmaster Season! The weather is FINALLY starting to warm up and everyone is getting the cabin fever to the max! Time to start dusting off the gear, getting everything spooled and get the boats ready for the water! This season the Hooked Club will start our year off down south in Virginia on the great lake Anna with some potential for some awesome springs bags! From there, its Cayuga in June, where our lunker of the year was caught for 2025. This year's big hooked will be at the Mohawk River, and you know the guys will be getting the flippin' sticks ready for the water chestnut. August will bring a club favorite, going to Lake Champlain out of Ticonderoga. Our final stop of the regular season will be a new body of water for the club, Lake Onondaga in New York, a sleeper pick that's supposedly a phenomenal northern largemouth fishery. Lastly, the classic will be in completely uncharted territory, going to Massachusetts for (how do you even say this) lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg, commonly known as Webster Lake and for having the longest one word name for a lake in the nation. Looking forward to an amazing season! Keep with the page for posts on our sponsors for this season, as well as our open tournaments we will be having this season! See you on the water!

The Hooked Bassmasters were up on Harveys lake on 10/24 and 10/25 for the Classic and what an interesting weekend it was!

The Top 6 battled it out. This was for sure the most competitive tournament of the year. It was all fun and games as usual when we were hanging out, but there was an extreme sense of passion, ambition, and complete focus when it came to the boats hitting the water. Everyone had their eyes on the prize and wanted nothing more than to take home the trophy and have the opportunity to hold on to it for the year.

Harveys is a lake that no one in our club has ever been to before. This made the playing field very fair for everyone. Nobody had an upper hand or any type of advantage over another angler. We had 2 days of practice to try to put a pattern together and then two days of combined weight tournament.

At the end of the day each and every guy left it all out on the lake fighting for the chance to be crowned the victor of the Hooked Bassmasters Classic Trophy!

The situation we had this year for our Classic was unusual. We were unable to go to our original destination which was Swinging Bridge Reservoir due to a large tournament going out on the dates we had planned. So we decided to go to Harveys lake in PA instead. Within 3 days we planned the perfect place to stay which was directly in the boat ramp as well as get all of the permits needed to go there. It couldn't have been better the way things fell in to place so easily.

Harveys Lake presented us with a big twist to our usual tournaments, PA regulations in October for bass is only 4 fish, at a length of 15 inches, rather than the typical 5 fish at 12 that 95% of our tournaments are at. It raised the bar for everyone, and every fish was that much more critical. With only 4 fish to weigh, each fish carried more impact in your total, meaning you're gonna need 4 GOOD bites to win and some of the guys found them!

Harveys Lake proved to be tough for most of the guys but as usual a couple of the guys figured them out and ran with the pattern. With water temps in the low 50's, the fall bite was on for the Smallmouth. Most of the fish caught were in the 25-35 foot range and they were on the bait fish. If you found the bait fish you just needed to throw a Fish Sense Binsky in to the bait pods and you were almost guaranteed to get a bite from the schooling smallmouth.

With a repeat Michael Iannuzzi has gone back to back, winning the 2024 classic on Conesus Lake and the 2025 classic on Harveys Lake!! Congrats Mike! Mike is our first repeat champion since Jim Browne managed his 3 peat from 2020-2022. BUT don't get too excited yet Mike, you have 1 more to go before you can claim you've reach the Jim dynasty level. Mike was our only angler to bring in 4 fish limits on both days, showing just how tough the bite was, including multiple anglers leaving with no fish weighed in. So how did he get his fish? All the credit belongs to and his Binsky! Mike discovered that the smallies wanted the Binsky, and literally ONLY the Binsky during practice, and spent both days of the classic throwing it almost from first cast to last. The rest of the club discovered the hot Binsky bite a bit later, resulting in most of the fish weighed in during the tournament, including Joanna Bavuso our rider classic champion, catching all her fish on The Binsky! Props to an amazing bait! If you throw blade baits, they are the only one to use. Congratulations to Joanna and Mike on stellar seasons! Your hard work paid off with a hard fought tough classic! We cannot wait until the 2026 season arrives to get the ball rolling again!

The whole Hooked club would love to thank all of our supporters and followers for staying along with us during this amazing season, you all are amazing and we appreciate you all. We would also like to thank our sponsors for this season, Mark Lindsay and Son Plumbing & Heating, Inc. N&B Marine Supply Keitech USA and Jim Schmucker's Fiberglass & Gelcoat Repair, Bizz Baits, and Fish Sense Lures for their support this year! We couldn't do this without you all. We are looking forward to our end of year banquet, our fall and winter buddy tournaments, and the 2025 season! Keep tuned for all our updates throughout the year! . . .

10/12/2025

Welcome to the 2025 Hooked Bassmasters Classic! Originally scheduled to be fished on Swinging Bridge Reservoir in New York, a schedule conflict forced the hand of the club, and had to explore alternative options. When an opportunity came together way faster than imaginable, the arrangements were made and the classic was moved to Harveys Lake in Northeast PA on 10/24 and 10/25/25. Harveys is a body of water noone in the club has been to, making it a completely clean slate and a true test for supremacy! A big twist to our usual tournaments, PA regulations in October for Bass is only 4 fish, at a length of 15 inches, rather than the typical 5 fish at 12 that 95% of our tournaments are at. What does this mean? It raises the bar for everyone, and every fish is THAT much more critical. With only 4 fish to weigh, each fish carries more impact in your total, meaning you're gonna need 4 GOOD bites to win. We are expecting some close results and some healthy weights!
Harvey's is a scenic 600+ acre natural lake in the mountains of PA. It drops off to over 100 feet despite its small stature. Looking at the lake, Docks are a major feature on this gorgeous body of water. Surrounding the shoreline on nearly the entire bank are hundreds of giant docks, including many homes built on top of docks on the bank! Skipping and hitting these should play a huge factor! The lake also features plenty of rocky areas, grassy coves, and drop offs that can all be fished. The lake hosts both largemouth and smallmouth, and both will factor. Which of these areas, and which angler figures it out with 0 experience on the lake is going to be awesome! Late October in the Poconos brings other challenges, like what will the weather be and will everyone freeze? Only one way to find out! Congratulations to the 6 boaters and our 3 riders who will be fishing the classic! We will be individually acknowledging these fine anglers throughout the coming weeks and their accomplishments on the season. . .

This was the best way to end the year!! What a blast!! Everyone had an absolutely amazing time. Great friends, lots of laughs, beautiful house. How does it get any better ?!?!

We haven't been to Saratoga in 2 years and, well... D**K FEST. Everyone for the most part was able to find a limit but as usual it mattered who found the one kicker fish to take the day. So many 7-9 pound bags were weighed in. All of the fish in the lake seem to be stunted. Most guys were catching anywhere between 20-40 fish a day and most of them were 9 inches 11.5 inches.

Either way still a great weekend! Fish were caught on anything you wanted to use from 1 foot of water all the way down to 45.

An Anticlimactic update on how the fish off between Randy and Mike went from our day 2 Lillinonah double tie. We ended up not being able to do it because Randy AND Mike had motor problems during practice motor. HOW??? What we did to decide a winner was whoever caught the biggest fish between the two tournament days would be crowned the winner and Mike ended up taking the win by catching a 3.08 pounder. Congratulations to Mike!!!

Weather Report - During the practice day 1 the weather was fair with partly cloudy skies. Day 1 of tournament was beautiful with cooler temps in the morning and partly cloudy skies. Day 2 of tournament was the same. Water temps were anywhere from 70-72 degrees depending on what area of the lake you were in.

KEEP READING to hear what happened on day 2 for one of the CRAZIEST end results of a tournament you've ever heard!!!
The Hooked Bassmasters headed out to Connecticut on 8/16 and 8/17 for 2 days on Lake Lillinonah, or as some guys in the club affectionately call it Lake Little-to-no-fish ?. The club dealt with some sweltering heat, water temps of over 85 degrees, jetskis and tube boats circling in every direction, and it certainly made the bite tough. In the end, we had a fun tournament with some good results!
Day 1 was taken by Mike Iannuzzi with a solid 18 lb bag, including one of the skinniest smallmouth ever to grace this earth. Mike did make up for the skinny guys with lunker for the day with a 4.27 largie. Nice work! Randy Jr came in close behind with just north of 17 lbs of his own with a mixed bag of the green guys and brown ones! Rounding out the top 3 was the Randy Baran Sr, with just over 13 lbs. The rider side was taken on day one by Stevo Lang, the only rider to limit day 1. Great job to them all.
And then. There was what happened on day 2.
Fishing was tough day 2, with lighter bags overall. The amazing Joanna took the rider side with a solid 5 fish bag. Our day 2 lunker was the great dirty johnson himself Gary Hughes with a just sub 5 lb largie. 2nd place was Mike with 13.44 lbs, and the lead was Randy Jr with 13.69 lbs. Ok, i said there'd be something crazy so what's the catch? Randy Jr had 1 dead fish, resulting in a .25 lb penalty per club rules, and 13.69-.25 makes it a tie with exactly 13.44 for 1st place for both. Ok, ok, i know, we've all heard of a tie before, it happens, so whats so crazy about that? Well, per Hooked club rules, tie breaker goes to whoever weighed in the larger lunker. Randy's lunker? A 4.36 lb smallmouth. Mike's lunker? A 4.36 Lb SMALLMOUTH. Mike and Randy tied in overall weight to the 1/thousandth of a pound, AND TIED THEIR LUNKERS. The odds of one are pretty darn low low, but to tie BOTH? A DOUBLE TIE. How would you solve the tie? Let us know below!

Weather Report - During the practice day 1 the weather was fair with partly cloudy skies. Day 1 of tournament was beautiful with cooler temps in the morning and partly cloudy skies. Day 2 of tournament was the same. Water temps were anywhere from 83-85 degrees depending on what area of the lake you were in.

Hooked Bassmasters was at the Lake Champlain out of Ticonderoga for our Third regular season tournament weekend of the year on 7/25 and 7/26. Huge shout out to
N&B Marine Supply for sponsoring this tournament and their support! We may have some of our guys calling you soon, as should anyone else if you have any boat related needs! Despite setbacks with boat and trailer issues for multiple members of the club, everyone had an amazing week!

This year Hooked Bassmasters is striking out with mother nature! Yet again another tournament where the conditions are just off compared to years past. This year the water was down about two feet and the good grass areas were just so hard to come by. Most of the fish this past weekend were caught off of hard structure and that is not the norm for this time of year! When we go to Ticonderoga we think of slamming giants out of the grass needless to say that just didn't happen this time.

The water level this year was 94.81 which was way down from the last 2 years which for sure played a huge part in less weights than last years but guys still found some really good fish!

Weather Report - During the practice day 1 the weather was fair with partly cloudy skies. Day 2 of practice was the same! Day 1 of tournament we lucked out …. the weather channel said thunderstorms all day and it completely held off until weigh in. Day 2 of tournament the fog held us near the ramp until around 8:30am until it burnt off there was barely any wind otherwise a beautiful day. Water temps were anywhere from 73-76 degrees depending on what area of the lake you were in.

Hooked Bassmasters was at the Cayuga Lake out of Union Springs for our Second regular season tournament weekend of the year on 6/20 and 6/21.

Once again this year we missed the spawn by a week..... we thought we had it right on the money this time going out the first weekend of open season to see some of the giant smallmouth on beds. BUT Mother Nature sure has a way of messing with Hooked Bassmasters.

The fish for sure seem to be in a post spawn pattern up there. A lot of skinny fish that seem to be pretty beaten up. A lot of the big fish weighed in this week should have been a lot heavier than they were, including Gordons 6.51 GIANT! We had 10 fish hit the scales in the 5 pound or better range! Cayuga has so many big fish in it!

After this tournament weekend Lunker of the year belonged to Randy Baran Jr. for one day only he had a 5.90. Ultimately after day 2 LOY went to Gordon Jung with a 6.51 SLOB, MUFFIN, YUCKO, whatever you want to call it!!!! Way to go Gordon!!! Unfortunately Randy Baran Sr. with a 5.60 got beat out this time from our last tournament weekend.

Weather Report - During the practice day 1 the weather was fair with partly cloudy skies. Day 2 of practice was WINDY! It blew 15-25 which prevented anyone from fishing the main lake. Day 1 of the tournament the wind did not let up but the temperature was perfect! Day 2 of the tournament there was barely any wind and it was extremely hot! 90 degrees all day in the straight sun. Water temps were anywhere from 64-73 degrees depending on what area of the lake you were in.
