The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are the proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the National Hockey League (NHL) Philadelphia Flyers. The Phantoms have won two Calder Cup Championships β one in 1998 and another in 2005 β and have developed many players who have gone on to play in the NHL. Several of the more notable players to play with the Phantoms are: Claude Giroux, Sean Couturier, Jeff Cart
er, Mike Richards, R.J. Umberger, Matt Read, Brayden Schenn, James Van Riemsdyk, Michael Leighton and Danny Briere. The team began as the Philadelphia Phantoms in 1996 and remained in the City of Brotherly Love until 2009 when the team was relocated to Glens Falls, New York, as the Adirondack Phantoms. After five seasons in New York, the team found a new home inside of the PPL Center in downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania, where it is now in its eighth season as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
