Here’s a simpler Instagram-friendly version:

Meet Coach Maury 👊

Coach Maury has been involved in martial arts since he was six years old, with experience across taekwondo, Muay Thai, boxing, MMA, and Jiu jitsu.

Over the years, he’s trained under respected coaches across Texas, competed in MMA and grappling, and helped develop amateur and professional fighters.

His background in powerlifting and strength training also gives him a unique approach to coaching, helping students build technique, athleticism, and confidence at the same time.

We’re proud to have Coach Maury bringing his experience and knowledge to the mats at GymJitsu Allen.

I can also make it a little more family-focused and welcoming for parents looking at GymJitsu for the first time.

We asked the kids what they like about GymJitsu Allen…

We got answers about learning new moves, getting stronger, making friends, and having fun on the mats.

And of course, we also got a perfectly timed “6 7.” 😂

Honestly, that pretty much sums up kids class.

Good training, good energy, and plenty of personality.

Come see what makes GymJitsu Allen such a fun place to learn and grow.

White belts, don’t overcomplicate your sweeps.

Focus on three things: break their balance, control the right points, and use timing instead of trying to muscle through the position.

Good Jiu Jitsu isn’t about being stronger. It’s about understanding where your opponent’s weight is and knowing when to move it.

Learn the details. Drill the basics. Let the technique do the work.

Monday means one thing: back on the mats.

For the kids, it’s another chance to build confidence, discipline, and learn how to keep going when things get hard.

For the adults, it’s a chance to reset, sharpen your skills, and start the week doing something that makes you better.

You don’t have to be perfect today.

Just show up, put in the work, and leave a little better than you came in.

See you on the mats.

Don’t just learn a submission. Learn what comes next.

If option one gets defended, you shouldn’t have to stop and figure everything out again. You should already understand where option two is.

That’s why we teach Jiu Jitsu with systems in mind.

Every grip, position, transition, and submission should connect to something else. When students understand those connections, they stop relying on memorized moves and start learning how to actually problem solve while they roll.

Submission one gets defended? Move to submission two.

They shut that down? The system keeps going.

The goal isn’t to collect techniques. It’s to understand how they work together.

Another day on the mats.

Learning, drilling, competing, and getting a little better every round.

Jiu Jitsu has a way of teaching you that progress doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s one position, one detail, or one small win at a time.

Just keep showing up.
