Time flies when you're having fun! You're invited to this time-hop moment and celebration next Tuesday as we party like it's 1996: the year Joe Farmer Recreation Center opened for the Allen community.

Since then, Joe Farmer Rec Center has been a place to hang after school, the camp to attend during breaks, the place to get moving with a fitness class, and the place planning and hosting some of Allen's favorite events.

Joe Farmer Recreation Center's 30 Year Celebration happens next Tuesday, September 15, with a full day of activities:

Tiny Tots
· 9:30 am – Donuts kick off
· 9:45 am – Storytime
· 10-11:30am Tiny Tots

90s Pickleball
· 12-4 pm – Back to the 90s Best Dressed Contest
· Photo-Op Available

Main Event (Free Entry & Food)
· 6 pm-8 pm – Magician, games, chance prizes & giveaways

Ready to party with us? Register for the event or just show up during one of the event times - extra points if you're in 90s-themed attire: https://bit.ly/4gZVSMZ

🗣️We've had such great input on our Trails Master Plan - let's keep the conversation going! This week, we have added follow-up questions to the Engage Allen site and we'd love your thoughts on the five goals that guide the Allen Trails Master Plan.

Through Labor Day, head to the Engage Allen to share your suggestions on:
- Enhancing Mobility (trails that meet the needs of recreation and transportation)
- Enhancing trail and bikeway experiences (how trails connect)
- Enhancing accessibility and maintenance
- Promoting sustainable practices
- Enhancing Safety

💬Share your feedback and see others' thoughts on each goal, with the option to add or reply to them. This part of the survey is a collaborative planning conversation that will help shape the future of the trails that take us all over our community!

Let's talk trails!
We'll see you tonight (Tuesday, September 1) at the in-person input opportunity at Terrell Recreation Center from 5 - 7pm.

We have a few follow-up questions to our July Trails Master Plan survey and invite you to weigh in!
Join Allen Parks and Recreation and Halff (the planning and engineering consulting firm partnering with the City to update the Trails Master Plan) for an informal chance to talk hike-and-bike trails.

If you missed July's survey, this will also give you a chance to share thoughts about:
🚶 How you use Allen's trails
🛣️ Trail conditions, safety and accessibility
🔗 Connections to neighborhoods and destinations
🌳 Trailhead amenities and features
💡 Priorities for future improvements and expansion

More about the Trails Master Plan can be found at LifeinAllen.org/PlanUpdates
