HORSE STORIES 🐴💕 Next up, meet Darby!!

Darby is our little Quarter Horse mare who is just one of those horses people fall in love with immediately. She's the sweet chili pepper mare with that big look in her eyes. 👀

Years back a good friend gave her to us as she needed a loft landing where she could stay active at her pace. She was a little under muscled and tight through her body. She also had an old injury at the base of her spine that needed attention and real time to heal.

We started her on medication and our volunteers helped us with those important stretches between bodywork sessions to regain motion. With a quiet season of pasture rest, along with all the body work and treatments, it made a remarkable difference in how her whole body. The little mare started playing in her pasture with the other girls and showing off her personality!

Massage day is Darby's absolute favorite. She makes the goofiest happiest faces when our specialist works on those tight muscles.. fully broadcasting that she has found the spot and wants everyone to know it. 😄♥️ Our massage therapist also loves the feedback and "'thank you's"!

On the trail, she keeps her head low, steady and completely unbothered. She's got that energy about her that feels all warm. One of our favorite things a customer ever said to us was that the moment she got on Darby she felt like a five year old again, smiling ear to ear and never wanting to get off. We think that says everything about who this little red mare is. 🥺

Plodding along nice and easy on the glow rainbow train🐴🌈

To address a common question we’re getting right now. There are no plans to add more glow ride times for the month of June!! After next week, the reminder of June is reserved for our youth activities.

Glow ride times for July (and potentially August) will be determined and released in about 2 weeks (ish). Don’t completely hold me to that as I will not rush my horses schedules. If I need more time to take care of them first, I will delay time release! Simple as that. 🐴💕 Thank you!!

HORSECARE WEDNESDAY 🐴♥️

Today was another big day at the ranch. Our horses had a round of this month’s chiropractic care. 🥰 Thank you Dr. Emily for your magic and wisdom today!! Thank you Judy for tackling the aftercare bodywork for the horses. 🥹💕 Thank you to all the volunteers that keep things running smoothly. SO many horses were on the roster today!

Just like people, horses can get tight and a little out of whack. And since we have a lot of senior horses in some kind of rehab, we try really hard to stay ahead of the things before they turn into bigger problems. So these appointments are crucial!!

It may not be the flashiest kind of care, but it is one of the ways we are able to help our horses enjoy themselves in their homes and also with their jobs at their own pace. 🐴💕

This month, we are hoping to raise $2,880 for June to help cover the cost of big appointments like today, along with upcoming massage, farrier visits, and other little things that add up quickly when caring for a herd like ours

Pasture Time for a Purpose ❤️ For the month of June only, we are opening up a NEW EXPERIENCE for anyone who could use some quiet time with horses. 🐴🌾☀️

Our family's private 40acre ranch is tucked away in the Allegan Forest, miles away from the noise of cities and highways. Out here, it's just the horses grazing, the trees moving with the breeze, the birds singing, and room to just breathe. 🥰🌳

Come, relax, and simply be! Read a few pages from your favorite book, sketch something beautiful, say a quiet prayer, let your little one practice reading aloud to a gentle audience, or have a heart-to-heart (or a good cry) with one of the best secret keepers around. 💕 We also believe quiet time near humans is healing for our horses too. 🐴❤️

There is no cost to reserve a spot, but donations are deeply appreciated. 🙏

Weekend things! 🤠♥️🐴🦆 A post of random pictures captured from over the weekend. We’re very thankful and blessed to have so many riders have come out to support our ranch and family 🙏

I enjoy hearing people talk about how much just being out in the fresh air around these horses clears their mind and hearts. 🥰 Reminds us of one of the many reasons why we do this!
