Got a Fit Mindset or a Self-Sabotaging Mindset?
Recently, some have mentioned experiencing what I like to call "The Funk" – a state where it becomes increasingly difficult to find the motivation to train. (*In my opinion we don't lose motivation we forget Our Why!) *Taking the time to solidify your Deep WHYS will give you purpose, which is deeper than motivation. 😉
This brings us to a crucial topic that can make or break your fitness journey: MINDSET.
Throughout my years of experience, I've noticed that when people struggle with their health and fitness goals, the issue often isn't physical—it's mental.
Your mindset plays a pivotal role in your success.
The Battle Between Mindsets:
You might have the perfect goals and the ideal plan to achieve them, but if your mindset isn't aligned, you're setting yourself up for a fall.
So, let's ask a critical question:
Are you operating with a Fit Mindset or a Self-Sabotaging Mindset?
Recognize These Self-Sabotaging Beliefs:
✅"Losing weight is too hard."
✅"I’ve lost weight before, but it always comes back."
✅"I don’t deserve the body I want."
✅"I’m not disciplined enough to stick to a plan."
✅”Getting healthy and working out is just so hard.” (*I tell my clients: “choose your hard.” Health is hard. Sickness is hard.)
These beliefs foster negative thoughts that lead to actions (or inactions) that confirm those beliefs, trapping you in a cycle of frustration.
Breaking the Cycle with New Decisions:
Transform your mindset by making empowering new decisions:
✅"I’m deciding that following this plan most of the time will make losing weight easier."
✅"I’m deciding that I deserve the body I want and I know what it takes to achieve it."
✅"I’m deciding that I’m disciplined enough to stick to the plan and motivated enough to succeed."
✅”I’m deciding to choose my hard: and I choose health.”
…Your health is worth fighting for! 🙂
Can you see the difference between these?
Bonus : Visualize Your Success:
If you want to look great in a bathing suit this summer, visualize yourself wearing it.
Better yet, go pick out that bathing suit now, in the size you want to wear.
Did that shirt or dress you want to wear again out of the closet and keep it where you can see it. Just last week a client was wearing leggings they told me they couldn’t fit into when they were gifted with them a year ago. 🙂
Imagine the strength you’ll feel playing with your kids pain-free. That’s a BIG WHY for me!
Make these visions so real they can’t help but manifest in your daily actions.
Take Action and Stay Accountable:
Write down your goals and review them daily.
Share them with family and friends or/and with me, to keep yourself accountable.
Remember, believing in your decision is the first step to seeing it come to life.
Together, let’s turn those self-sabotaging beliefs into a self-empowering reality.
And if you need help: REACH OUT and let’s connect. 🙂
2012 was a really hard year for me. Though I had been lifting weights since 2006 I let the daily discipline of physicality get away from me because my spirit was crushed. I let myself go. My outwar…
