The Sandy Nielsen tournament to support the Algona Bulldog Wrestling program was a tremendous success! A packed course, cool items to bid on in the silent auction and dinner afterward made for a terrific mix! THANK YOU to those who helped organize and to all who came! I believe the Kain family had golfers who traveled the furthest- former AHS wrestlers who took first place this year! 🐾🤼 ⛳️

We can’t wait to come watch some meets this year! Go Dawgs!

The Eagle 500 was great fun, as always, and this year had a fun twist! Jenna Prothman made an eagle in the second round, and in the Eagle 500, this automatically moved her to the championship flight. Todd Sewick, who was in first place, then had a head to head playoff against Jenna where Todd emerged victorious!

A tremendous thank you to all who came to play and especially to Scott and Julie Sewick and Algona Plumbing and Heating for sponsoring this event! Where else can one earn their way in to a cost free tournament for the chance at over $500 in prizes -and- a free lunch!? Thanks, Scott and Julie, for all you do to keep the Eagle 500 alive! We know Julie’s Dad, Doc Clegg, is very proud as he started this event many years ago!

The course will be closed tomorrow at 1:00pm for the Sandy Nielsen Tournament, to support the Algona Bulldog Wrestling program. Both the Hoover’s and the Johnson’s are former wrestling families so we love being able to host this tournament!

We’ll post here when the tournament is coming to a close and we can open the course back up.
