🥎 Don't forget, another round Sandlot ball is being offered this week.

Programming note, the Babe Ruth League needs to make up a rained out game on Wednesday, so the minors will be having their session at the Alfred Softball field this week!

I realize we had a low turnout last week and we're unable to make a game out of our minors and majors session, but the girls that came out still had fun and got some work in! Spread the word and let's fill the fields this week!

We got (most of) our first night of MLL Sandlot Softball in last night before the rain started! We're thrilled with the turnout for our opening session at our youngest level, especially on a rainy evening. We are back at it tonight with our minors level. Programming note... Tomorrow's Majors level will need to be moved to the Middle School. Next week's Minors session on the 29th will also be at the Middle School.

Also, we're extending an invite to our neighboring communities! So if you have a friend and one of our neighboring leagues who would like to come play some ball, please feel free to send them an invite! They just need to have played in Little League this season!

🥎 Well, our Summer League plans did not pan out. Unfortunately, some of the other towns had trouble spreading the message, building teams, or finding coaches. The result was MLL having no one to play.

But we've had a lot of eager ladies and parents waiting to play some summer ball. After a quick reconfigure, this is what we've come up with!

MLL Sandlot Summer Softball

For the next 6 weeks, starting next week, our coaches will be at the fields with gear. Will do a quick warm up and maybe a drill or two and then dive into a game. There are no set teams, so we'll shuffle the girls each week based on who shows up and skill levels. Will rotate the girls through the field for extra skill building. This is all just for fun so there will be no tracking of wins and losses because there's no set teams.

If you can make it every week, fantastic! If you can only make it a couple, no problem! If you're going to arrive late ... Meet us on the field! Please attend in your designated age group. If your daughter is in coach pitch and moving up to minors, or minors moving up to Majors, they're welcome to attend either... or BOTH!

With the exception of July 29th, All nights will be at the Lions field. We'll be over at the middle school on the 29th because the Lions Club Field will be hosting another game already.

Because we're not tracking who is coming and who isn't, there will be no charge but donations would be welcome.

Our ladies came up just a little short. They battled hard against a very tough team from Gorham, beating them once to force the What-If game and then fighting hard all the way to the end, losing 7-5!

You ladies have been incredible to watch! The undefeated run through District and the way you've battle the State Tournament has been so much fun to watch. We're incredibly proud. Hold those heads high, as you should be pretty proud of those accomplishments as well!

Best of luck to Gorham, who will be representing Maine in the Regional tournament!

And that's game 1 of the day for our Majors All Star squad! A 4-2 victory over Gorham forces the What-If game! If you're still at home, what are you waiting for?! Get to Westbrook for the grand finale of the Maine State LL tournament. 3pm start!
