Zion Lee took his Oath of Office this week and will proudly serve as a Midshipman and student-athlete at the United States Naval Academy for the next five years. A standout football player at Bunkie, Lee earned this appointment through a years-long journey with his family of preparation and commitment. From there, his excellence on the field and on campus with his teammates and coaches carried him to this outstanding achievement: each year, the Naval Academy receives nearly 18,000 applications and selects only about 1,200 candidates. Zion now joins the Brigade of Midshipmen sworn to the Academy’s core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
Bunkie Head Coach Jimmie Hillman says that "this milestone came from a lot of hard work. Zion is one of the best players I have ever coached, not only for his ability when he plays, but for the way he leads others and how dedicated he was to this goal. We want the guys in our program to follow his example; he's been a perfect model for young men to follow."
Thank you to the Lee Family for helping 446Sports share this outstanding accomplishment, and congratulations to Zion Lee!
