🚨 NEW CLASS PILOT 🚨
Adult Wrestling Fundamentals

We’ll be testing out a brand new adults wrestling class on Wednesday, May 13th from 5–6 PM at Capital.

This class is designed for adults of ALL experience levels and will focus on the standing side of grappling, including:
• Handfighting
• Takedowns & takedown defense
• Throws & trips
• Balance, pressure, and control
• Wrestling for BJJ, MMA, fitness, and self-defense

Whether you’ve never wrestled before or you want to become more confident on the feet during grappling rounds, this class is meant to be technical, approachable, and beginner-friendly while still giving experienced athletes quality work.

The class will be coached by Coach Rob and Coach Brandon, who currently lead our youth wrestling program.

This is a PILOT class — if we get enough interest and attendance, we’d love to make it a permanent addition to the schedule.

So if you’ve been wanting to improve your takedowns, stop pulling guard every round 😅, or just try something new… this is your sign.

❄️ Snow/Ice Week Update ❄️

We just want to say — thank you. Seriously. The patience, flexibility, and understanding from this community has been awesome.

Many of our members coaches are still snowed or iced in. Road conditions remain spotty in certain areas, and these deep freezes every night are not helping things thaw out safely, especially the mornings.

Because of that, we will remain on a limited schedule for the remainder of the week. Safety continues to be the priority — always.

Before heading out, please make sure you’re checking the Capital App for the most up-to-date schedule and any last-minute adjustments.

We can’t wait to get everyone fully back in the building on a normal rhythm — but we’ll do it the right way.

Winter Schedule Update – Tuesday, January 27th

The Long Night will hit our morning classes…

⚔️ All morning classes are CANCELED.

We’ll crack the gates back open at 3:00pm for Open Training — come get your reps out of the cold and into the gym!

There will be a limited class evening schedule, as shown in the Capital App.
(Yes… the App is the true Three-Eyed Raven this week 👀)

Please check the App before heading out for any last-minute changes. Conditions are still icy in a lot of areas, and flexibility is the name of the game as many of our staff are stuck in their homes.

Thank you for your patience while we navigate Snow Week. Safety first. Gains second. Iron Throne third. Please only come out if it is completely safe for you to do so and please be careful in and out of the shopping center ❄️

❄️ Snow/Ice Week Update ❄️

We will post an update regarding Tuesday’s schedule around 7:00pm EDT tonight. **Coaches/Staff please check your emails and respond accordingly 🙏

Please be patient with us this week. Our #1 priority is the safety of our coaches, staff, and members. Some of our team and members are still unable to safely leave their homes due to dangerous road conditions.

Generally, we follow the Fairfax County Public Schools operating status as a guideline for our own, but will keep everyone updated based on staff and coach feedback/availability.

With single-digit lows and continued sub-freezing temperatures, this week will most likely run on a modified / make-shift schedule as conditions allow.

Before heading out, please make sure you are checking the Capital App for the most up-to-date schedule and class availability.

We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding. Stay safe, stay warm, and we’ll keep you updated. ❄️🔥

The Long Night has arrived.

Due to the incoming winter storm,
Capital MMA & Elite Fitness – Alexandria will be CLOSED Monday.

The realm is buried.
The roads are questionable.
Even the White Walkers called it.

Stay home. Stay warm.
Practice your shadowboxing in the kitchen.
Drill takedowns on a pillow.
Perfect your air squats while guarding the last loaf of sourdough bread.

We’ll reopen when the storm passes and the North remembers leg day.

Based on current conditions, there’s a strong possibility we may remain closed beyond Monday as well. We’ll continue to monitor the roads and weather and make decisions day-by-day.

As always, the safety of our coaches, staff, and members comes first. We never want anyone risking unsafe travel just to make it to class.

Until then — recover, hydrate, and prepare for battle later this week.

Winter came. We’ll be back. ❄️🔥

Winter is coming… but Capital MMA is OPEN TODAY! ❄️🔥

Bread and milk are gone.
Eggs? Vanished beyond the Wall.
But the racks? Still fully stocked.

Today is your last day to train before the storm hits and we possibly close for a bit.

Don’t be the Night’s Watch of your couch.
Stand guard over your gains.
Pack your gym bag like you’re marching north.
Claim the Iron Throne of Training before you’re snowed in.

The grocery aisles may be empty…
But our mats, bags, and dumbbells are ready for battle.

Stock up on squats.
Hoard your horsepower.
Winter-proof your lungs.

When the storm comes, you’ll either be binge-watching…
or sitting there knowing you earned your victory before the long night.

We know nothing about closing early — but we do know today is a good day to train.
