Alena has been a part of the Authentic Pilates community for nearly two years, and we are so glad she found her way here.

A school librarian with two master's degrees and a lifelong love of learning, Alena brings that same intentionality to her Pilates practice. She began working with Lindy four years postpartum after her first daughter, Rowyn, and has not looked back. When her second pregnancy brought morning sickness and new physical demands, she was determined to continue her practice prenatally and she did.

The results speak for themselves. Reduced tension and pain, improved posture, greater strength and flexibility, and significantly less of the low back pain and leg cramps that accompanied her first pregnancy. She kept up with her five year old throughout her third trimester. That is the work.

Alena's second daughter is arriving in early June, and she is already planning her return.

Bree has been a part of the Authentic Pilates community since after the birth of her first son, Noah.

A supply chain professional with a talent for keeping everything running smoothly, Bree brings that same focus and steadiness to her Pilates practice. After her first pregnancy she came to Authentic Pilates looking to rebuild her core and regain her strength. She did exactly that, and credits her practice with helping her feel like herself again faster than she expected.

Bree consistently and diligently kept up with her Pilates practice and made significant strides in her strength and connections, progressing to a higher level of ability within the Pilates Method. This solid foundation of health that she built within has served her well and made all the difference throughout this second pregnancy.

Bree is expecting her second son, Oliver, in June. She has navigated the third trimester while chasing an almost two year old, managing a full career, and showing up for herself consistently. That is the work.

At Junior Pilates Camp, we learned that every great foundation starts from the ground up, literally.

This week, we spent time exploring the incredible importance of our feet. Often overlooked, the feet serve as the foundation for the entire body and play a vital role in how we stand, walk, balance, and move. In the Pilates Method, healthy, active feet help "wake up" the muscles throughout the body, creating stronger, more connected movement from head to toe.

We had fun learning about Mr. Pilates' Toe Gizmo, and that you don't have to have an expensive Toe Gizmo, but can merely interlace two wristbands together to experience how our toes are designed to spread, support, and help us move efficiently. It turns out those little feet are doing a lot more work than most of us realize!

Who knew so much power could come from ten little toes?

Strong feet. Strong bodies. Healthy movement for life.

If there were ever any question about the level of strength that Classical Pilates develops, let this serve as your answer.

The classical method doesn't simply build muscle; it develops balanced, integrated strength throughout the entire body. Powerful backs. Strong, resilient shoulders. A supported, mobile spine. Lean, sculpted musculature that moves with the same fluidity and grace with which it was built.

This is the result of authentic Classical Pilates practiced consistently on classical apparatus, where every spring, dimension, and exercise serves a specific purpose within a systematic method of conditioning.

Classical Pilates gives young bodies something most movement modalities miss.

During childhood and adolescence, the body is building the movement patterns, postural habits, and neurological connections that will shape how it functions for decades.

As a former professional ballet dancer, a registered nurse, and a mother of an active young athlete, I have seen this from every angle.

For youth ages 10 to 18, here is what it builds:

A strong, stable core and spine. The command center for every movement they make, in the gym, on the field, on the stage, and in everyday life.

Postural awareness and alignment. Critical during the years when screens, backpacks, and rapid growth are actively working against the body's natural architecture.

Injury prevention and resilience. By developing the stabilizing muscles most sports training ignores, Pilates builds a body that is less likely to break down under the demands placed on it.

Body confidence that is earned, not performed. A quiet, grounded sense of what their body can do and how it feels to move well.

For young athletes and dancers, it fills the gaps their primary training leaves behind. For kids who simply need more intentional movement, it gives them a relationship with their body that most adults spend years trying to find.
