Hey men, every once in a while, I’m going to come at you hard to get your attention.

I hope this got your attention.

My intent is never to offend just for the sake of offending.

But if this did offend you, I probably made it for you.

Because most of the time, the truth only offends us when it’s touching something we don’t want touched.

So don’t get mad at me.

And honestly, getting mad at God is pointless too, because Christ is the only One who can actually help any of us.

Men, I’m not coming at you because I think I’m better than you.

I’m coming at you because I’ve been the fool.

I’ve been the man with misplaced passion.

I’ve been the man giving energy to the wrong things while neglecting the things God actually commanded me to love, lead, and build.

So hear this as mercy.

Not condemnation.

Run to Christ.

And how do you run to Christ?

You read God’s Word.

You pray God’s Word.

You obey God’s Word.

That’s where the work starts.

TRUE OR FALSE?

Reading Proverbs w/ eyes open to the glories of Christ will always have a man fixed first on the “FOOL” in him before the “FOOL” in others.

For 30 years, I thought I chose Christ.

Truth is, I chose Him every time I needed something.

When I was in trouble.
When I wanted help.
When I wanted protection.
When I wanted a Super Bowl trophy.
When I wanted God to bless my plans.

I wasn’t worshiping God.

I was trying to use God.

I was the fool Proverbs is always talking about!

Christ didn’t come to die to give sinners a chance to be saved.

Christ came to actually save His people.

Before the foundation of the world, God loved His people in Christ. He predestined them for adoption. He sent His Son to redeem them. He sent His Spirit to open blind eyes and raise dead sinners to life.

At 38, I received Christ because Christ opened my eyes to what He had already done for me.

He loved first.
He chose first.
He acted first.
He saved.

“We love because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19

Men…
Ask the hard questions!!

Have you been, “Raised from the Dead?”
Have you been, “Made a New Creation?”
Have you been, “Born Again?”

If you have been, share a brief testimony in the comments and share this w/ a friend who’s trying to use God.

Love you guys!

Your friend or Brother,
-Heath

To every mom and dad who got the hard result and chose life anyway:

You did not settle for a lesser child. You received a gift the world keeps trying to refuse. Heaven sees what you carry. Keep going.

To the family raising a son or daughter the culture calls less than:

God put His works on display in your home.
Do not let anyone talk you out of that.

And to the man who is heavy today, for any reason, hear this. God’s strength shows up best in the very places you have been told to hide. 2 Corinthians 12:9. He is not finished with you.

Tag a family who chose life for their Down Syndrome baby!

Send this to a man who needs the reminder that the Cross of Christ is enough!!

And as always..

Read God’s Word.
Pray God’s Word.
Obey God’s Word.

Men, I come at you hard because Scripture comes at us hard.

Yes, our God is gentle, patient, kind, long-suffering, and merciful beyond measure.

But His Word is clear.

And when the gospel call goes out, there is always an urgency screaming through Scripture:

You are not promised tomorrow.

Today is the day of salvation.

I have been the king of idiots.

The king of refusing to turn from my foolish, stupid ways.

And it cost me.

Much hurt.

Much pride.

Much money.

Much pain.

Not just for me, but for the people I loved most.

So hear the Word of the Lord today.

If He is calling you to repentance and faith, stop playing games.

Turn from the ways of this world.

Turn from the pleasures of your own wicked heart.

Ask the Lord to give you a new heart.

Ask Him to make you born again.

Ask Him to give you new desires.

Men, as always, share this.

You know men who need to hear it.

Good friends warn struggling friends.

So warn them.

Read God’s Word.

Pray God’s Word.

Obey God’s Word.

I share in hopes to inspire all of you not to rest until you find a healthy church body to care for and be cared for by.

Churches exist where Pastors and members, know your name and care for your souls intimately.

If you need help finding one, comment CHURCH44 and I’ll send you our BUILTREADY Healthy Church guide.

Love you guys!

Have you ever considered that the safety of your soul has never once rested on the strength of your grip?

Be honest with yourself for a second. When the house is quiet and you lie awake counting your sins, does it ever feel like you are the one holding onto Christ? Like the whole thing depends on how tight you can hang on, and your fingers are slipping?

I want you to hear me. That feeling is real, but it is built on a lie. If your salvation depended on your grip, you would have lost it years ago. Your grip is weak. Your faith wobbles. Your obedience comes and goes. None of us could hold on for a single day.

But salvation belongs to the Lord. Christ is not holding one end of the rope and asking you to hold the other. He has you by the wrist. The Father keeps you. The Son finishes what He started. The Spirit seals you forever. To say you could lose it, or quietly walk away from it, is to make your salvation your work instead of His.

So examine yourself today. Are you merely near Christ, or are you in Christ? Because the man in Christ is not saved by his grip. He is held by grace, kept by God, sealed by the Spirit, and no one can pluck him out of the Father’s hand.

And the man truly saved by THIS grace will work his butt off for the God of all grace.

Send this to the man who lies awake afraid he has finally slipped too far.

Read God’s Word.
Pray God’s Word.
Obey God’s Word.

You were never asked to keep yourself saved. You were asked to trust the One who keeps you.

Read that again, because most men are quietly carrying the opposite. They believe Christ saved them, and now the staying saved is on their shoulders. It sounds humble. It is not. It is works in a nicer shirt, and it will crush a man, because his shoulders were never built to carry it.

Hear me. Your grip is not what holds you. His does. The cross was not a down payment you finish with your obedience. It was a ransom paid in full. The Shepherd keeps His sheep. The Father loses none. The Spirit seals forever.

That truth does not hand you a pass to sin. Assurance was never a permit. The man who uses it to make peace with the thing Christ bled to kill has every reason to wonder if he was ever His. Saved men still sin. Saved men do not settle into it. We confess. We repent. We follow the voice.

So examine yourself today. Not to earn the love. To see it.

Now answer me in the comments: Where do you still catch yourself trying to keep yourself saved?

Read God’s Word.
Pray God’s Word.
Obey God’s Word.

The Christian faith is built on confession and meditation.

Confession of who God is.

Confession of who we are outside of Christ.

Confession of who we are in Christ.

Confession of our sins.

Confession of our faith, and more importantly, confession of who our faith is in.

Because He is faithful when we are faithless.

But the Christian faith is also built on meditation.

But true meditation is NOT emptying the mind.

Biblical meditation fills the mind with the Word of the Lord and fixes the mind on God.

Mainly, on who the King of glory is.

It keeps our eyes on Christ and not on self.

Psalm 1 says the blessed man delights in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night.

So take a minute.

Pray.

Think deeply on what you know of Christ, what He has commanded, and what He is worthy of.

Then answer this:

What will you do today to glorify and worship Christ who died for you?

Drop your answer in the comments below and then share this, challenging another brother/sister in Christ to think about rightly worshipping and glorifying God today!
