Psalm 68:5. "A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, this is God in his holy dwelling.

"Nationwide, one home in four is fatherless. In Parker County it's one in three. That isn't a statistic to us. That's the boy two streets over.

So we stopped talking about it. We signed for 29 acres in Texas. Under contract. Not closed yet, but under contract.

On this ground, boys will be surrounded by men who don't leave. They'll train harder than they thought they could. They'll be fed well. They'll be taught how to think about God, work, women, money, and life. They will not be handed the word victim. And they'll be pointed to Christ every single day it's open.Free to every family. "Quiet on the set." But who can stay quiet?

Five years ago we moved our family to Texas for one reason: to rescue the fatherless. All we knew was that it was going to take land.

We didn't have land. We had empty rooms. So we filled those first…a sibling set of four from foster care, three and a half years of ordinary days, and the word of God doing what the word of God does. It heals.

Then we fasted, and we prayed, and we asked God for ground.

Today we sat at a table and initialed our way through 29 acres. Under contract. Not closed…but under contract and one step closer!!

This is BUILTREADY Ranch. Within 90 days of close we will have a starter facility to start working with our first 20 boys.

Zero tuition, always. Most boys will never ask to be discipled. A lot of them will ask to get faster. That's why free athletic training is the front door right here in football country.

We didn't set out to start a supplement company. We just wanted a protein powder we trusted.

The more our eyes were opened to how big food and big pharma actually operate, the harder it got to un-see. So we started reading labels. Really reading them, then looking up every word we didn't recognize. Once you do that, you can't go back.

Here's what we found: everything clean tasted like chalk, and everything that tasted good was full of stuff we didn't want in our kids. Pick one. We looked for years and never found a single one that was both.

So we made it ourselves. Ingredients we can pronounce, a taste our kids actually ask for, and nothing we have to explain away.

Last, we answered to God first. Then to every family that trusts us with what's in the scoop.

Men, the Word of the Lord is clear on this.

The gospel starts with the fact that God is Holy and we are not.

Meaning: NONE IS GOOD!

Our problem is not that we need to become better men.

Our problem is that we are guilty sinners who need the perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ.

That is why calling yourself a “good man” is so dangerous. It compares you to other sinners instead of comparing you to the Holiness of God.

The Christian does not boast, “I’m a good man.”

He confesses, “I am a sinful man who has been shown unimaginable mercy.”

Men, abandon the résumé of self-righteousness.

Repent of your sin.

Stop trusting in your goodness.

Run to Christ and rest in His finished work.

And men, do the hard work now, not later…if this exposed pride in you, share it with a brother and tell him why.

Men, no one arrives into a strong life by accident. You choose in private, over and over, and one day the total shows up in public.

So answer me honestly: Who knows what you are carrying right now? Not your pastor's Instagram. Not the group chat you go quiet in. A real man, with your real number, who is allowed to ask you the ugly question and expect the truth.

If the answer is nobody, you are already losing ground and you have not noticed yet. Every man I know who blew up his life did it quietly first.

"Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire. He breaks out against all sound judgment." Proverbs 18:1

Here is my challenge for you this weekend. Break the silence before it breaks you. Say the thing out loud to one man who fears God, and give him permission to check on you Monday.

Look at who is actually coaching you right now.
For years mine were guys who had never once opened a Bible with me. Sharp guys. Impressive guys. Guys I still respect. And every one of them handed me a version of strength that had no Savior in it.

My favorite dead godly dude said it better than I can: to seek advice from the ungodly is to borrow fire from hell to warm your hands.

“Trusting in a treacherous man in times of trouble is like a bad tooth or a foot that slips.” Proverbs 25:19

Understand me, men. I am not boasting in my own life. If my life before Christ played out on a big screen, I would be the most humiliated man on earth. I am boasting in Christ and standing on His eternal word.

Your circle is either your safety net or your death trap.
So go do the honest inventory today. Write down the five voices you listen to most. Then ask which of them will tell you the truth no matter the cost, and which of them are just entertaining you while you sink.Find men who fear God. Men who laugh in the face of evil and boldly declare, the Lord is my helper, I will not fear, what can man do to me.

Tag the brother who tells you the truth when it costs him something, and send this to the man who needs one.

Every man has one friend who tells him what he wants to hear.

I have been that friend. And for years I collected those friends on purpose, because I did not want anybody close enough to call me out.

Looking back, those were the most comfortable years I ever wasted.
Flattery feels like kindness on the way in and does damage on the way out. It is manipulation.
Witchcraft in disguise, twisting the truth just enough to keep control of you.“Whoever gives an honest answer kisses the lips.” Proverbs 24:26

The men who love you most are willing to make you uncomfortable. They wound you to heal you. A flatterer wounds you to destroy you, and he smiles the whole time he does it.

So ask yourself the hard one: are the men around me sharpening me, or just agreeing with me?
And the harder one: which one am I being to them?

Your kids are watching everything.

Not just the Sunday version of you. The Tuesday night version. The version that shows up when nobody's looking but them.

They don't need you to be perfect. They need you to be honest. They need a dad who owns it when he's wrong, who apologizes when it costs him something, and who refuses to fake it just to save face.

Because here's what nobody tells you: your sons aren't going to repeat your best sermon. They're going to repeat your daily habits. And your daughters aren't going to marry what you told them to look for. They're going to marry what you showed them.

This one hit me hard. Watch it.

I spent years saying all the right things. Church on Sunday. God talk on Monday. Looking the part the whole time.

But my actions told a different story.
I loved the wrong things.
And the scariest part is I did not even know it.

I thought wanting God's blessings was the same thing as wanting God. It is not. Not even close.

I see that same lie everywhere right now. In the gym. On social media. In the pulpit. Men who are fired up and still headed the wrong direction. All hype, no holiness.

Desire is not the problem, men. Desire without wisdom is.

“Desire without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses the way.” Proverbs 19:2

So examine yourself. Not your goals. Your loves.

The men who watched Jesus raise Lazarus from the grave did not fall on their faces.
They started planning a murder.

Sit with that before you say you'd believe if only you had proof. They had the proof. They had the miracles, the healings, the empty tomb of a dead man walking out alive. And they hated Him for it.

The Bible is honest about why. No one seeks for God on his own. We are not neutral jurors weighing the evidence. We are rebels who love the dark and call it freedom.

So when a man says "I'd go all in if I knew for sure," he has misdiagnosed himself. The issue was never his mind. It was his heart. And a heart like that does not need a better argument. It needs to be made alive.

If you believe today, hear this clearly. You did not out-think anyone. You were dead, and God spoke life into you the way He spoke light into nothing. That is mercy, start to finish. And if you're still sure you'd bow on your own terms, that certainty is the very thing standing between you and Christ. Ask Him to break it.
