If you've ever wondered what a fitness reimbursement program actually is — here's the plainest explanation we can give.
A fitness reimbursement program is a benefit offered by certain insurance companies and employer groups that rewards their members with money for working out consistently.
The way it works:
The Insurance Company (or Employer Group) sets the program rules — how many visits per month qualify, and how much the reimbursement is (typically $20–$40/month).
The Fitness Center (that's you) enrolls in the program through NIHCA. You log your eligible members' visit counts once a month using a simple online portal.
The Member gets reimbursed directly by their insurance company — into their bank account — when they hit the required visit count.
NIHCA is the clearinghouse in the middle — we manage the relationship between insurance programs and individual fitness centers so that small, independent gyms can access the same programs that big national chains use.
It's a legitimate, growing part of the fitness industry. And it's available to your gym right now.
