Are you seeing the results you want or are you just spinning your wheels
This is a question I get all the time.
“I’m not getting results like I thought I would, what am I doing wrong?”
Well let’s assess some things.
Number one thing to consider is what exactly are your goals.
Are you working out to lose weight?
Are you working out to gain muscle?
Are you working out simply because it’s good for your mental health?
If your goal is to lose weight or gain muscle and you’ve been doing the same thing for a long period of time with no results you have to ask yourself, have I been consistent and honest with myself? If your nutrition is on point Monday thru Thursday but on Friday, Saturday and Sunday you are eating everything you can find and drinking on top of it, this isn’t going to work for you. Really be honest with yourself on whether or not you are really sticking to your plan.
Are you focused in your workouts? When you do a workout you can’t pick the weights that are comfortable to you and breeze through 10-12 reps then move to the next exercise. You need to be picking a weight that is challenging enough to where those last 2 reps are HARD.
Are you following a specific program? You need to pick a program that is 4-6 weeks long. For example, you will do the same back and biceps workout for 4-6 weeks, once a week to be able to increase weight, reps or tempo to build muscle and strength. Progressive overload is key not only for building muscle but burning fat.
Do you have accountability? Do you struggle to get the motivation to do your workouts or discipline to stick with a program? FIND A BUDDY or a community (I know an amazing one, btw 😉) find someone that you can count on that you all can text back and forth to keep each other on track!
These are just a few tips of things that I personally see the most and honestly that I have had to assess for myself. When you find what works and you’re consistent, I promise you those results will follow.
