The ego is what cares about the "perfect" appearance, but by the 24th century, are we even going to be around ?! 🤖💥
When Star Trek: The Next Generation was first introduced, a reporter questioned why its new captain was bald. Surely, by the 24th century, there would be a cure for baldness. Creator Gene Roddenberry had a simple answer: "By the 24th century, no one will care."
That captain was Jean-Luc Picard, played by Patrick Stewart. When the series premiered in 1987, Stewart brought intelligence, dignity, and warmth to the role. His character became one of television's most beloved captains, showing that great leadership was about wisdom, compassion, and doing what was right. Stewart would go on to play Picard for decades, while also winning over audiences as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men films.
On October 28, 2026, Sir Patrick Stewart passed away at the age of 86. His remarkable career touched generations of fans around the world. Thank you, Sir Patrick, for the unforgettable performances, the wonderful memories, and the humanity you brought to every role. You gave us a captain who inspired us to be better people, and for that, you will always be remembered with love and respect.
