Albion Soccer Club

Albion Soccer Club The Albion Soccer Club (ASC) is a comprehensive soccer organization located in Albion, New York.

It is comprised of a co-ed Recreational Program for youth ages U4-U10 where children will be introduced to the game of soccer, and Recreational and Competitive Travel teams for boys and girls ages U12-U19. From an early age, the ASC is geared towards teaching the fundamentals of soccer in a relaxed atmosphere, which encourages fun, beginner skill training and sportsmanship. At the older ages, it i

s equally important to offer both recreational and competitive options that allow all players to find satisfaction in the game of soccer. The ASC makes it a priority to offer each member opportunities throughout the entire year to play and enjoy the game. Re-Organization and Expansion Process

For many years the Albion Soccer Club has provided a successful and enjoyable experience throughout the summer months in local recreational leagues, but often on the shoulders of a few very committed individuals. While it is certain that the program would not have survived without the dedication and commitment of these individuals, such dedication to the operational needs of the program made expansion and growth nearly impossible. In late 2010, it was the general feeling of the Albion soccer community at large that a re-organization process could be used to create both a better distribution of responsibilities, as well as a continually expanding and developing program. In March of 2011 this process was officially set into motion with a community meeting resulting in the creation of an expanded Board of Directors. This new board was tasked with establishing By-Laws, Rules, and (most importantly) an over-arching structure that would best allow the club to expand and develop for years to come. Since then the Board of Directors has already experienced significant changes and will certainly (along with the community as a whole) experience many more. But with a solid structure in place and a community eager to grow and develop the game of soccer, there is no doubt that great things are in store for the future of the Albion Soccer Club. Goals and Future Outlook

Looking forward from a soccer perspective, The Albion Soccer Club plans to continually enhance and improve the overall experience of each player and member of the club. A short-term goal of the club is to develop both competitive and recreational opportunities at each age group and for each player. While it is nearly impossible to create a system where everyone finds the perfect mix between competition and recreation, it is certainly a goal worth having. From a Club perspective, our goals are to constantly enhance the organizational and communication aspects of the club. The short-term goals of the club are to establish a reliable forum where ideas can be presented and evaluated by any member of the community as to how the club can be improved. An effective and unified process of communication will guarantee that the club hears the voice of the community, and that the community can adequately take advantage of all opportunities that the club offers.

I apologize for the delay in posting about the Ben Kirby indoor tournament. What a success it was with around 60 teams from around 15 schools/programs. Here are a few pics from the two days.

A huge shout out to the volunteers. There were many that truly stepped up the day of the tournament as we were very short on the numbers that signed up. There were several students who really received their community service hours that day sticking around and helping 10+ hours.

This tournament means a lot to the Kirby family, the club and the many players and coaches who attend.

Another year of success!

Just a reminder about the meeting tonight at the Hoag Library.

01/10/2024

The Soccer Club will be hosting a public meeting January 22nd from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Hoag Library at 134 S. Main St.

We are looking for parents of players and coaches to attend.

We will be taking nominations for Board replacements for President, Secretary and Treasurer as our kids are seniors.

Please bring your thoughts and ideas to share. The more volunteers we have with helping with the Fall, Indoor, Travel and Summer programs, the easier it is to keep things moving along.
