There has been some confusion over when fireworks are allowed in the city limits of Albia. Below you will find the state ordinance which clearly states July 3rd 9am - 10pm and July 4th 9am - 11pm. This ordinance PROHIBITS cities from banning or restricting firework use during those times.

Iowa Senate File 303, signed by Governor Kim Reynolds on May 19, 2025, prohibits cities and counties from banning or restricting consumer fireworks on July 3, July 4, and December 31.

This law supersedes local ordinances that previously prohibited fireworks on these dates, such as those in Des Moines and Sioux City.

Under this new state law, local governments may only restrict fireworks on days other than the three protected dates if they determine use poses a threat to public safety, private property, or constitutes a nuisance to neighbors. For the protected dates, fireworks may be discharged on private property (or with owner permission) between 9:00a.m. and 10:00 p.m. on July 3, 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on July 4, and 9:00 a.m. on December 31 to 12:30 a.m. on January 1.

We want to thank everyone that bought their fireworks đź’Ą from us & shopped local, we had a great year & hope to see everyone again next year BUT if your not done blowing things up you can stop by & take advantage of our already low prices and take an extra 25% off today through Sunday!!!!!
