Detroit Lake Kokanee July fishing wrapped up today… the past 2+ weeks at at Detroit has been nothing short of epic & some of best Kokanee fishing I’ve witnessed over the years. Quick limits & BIG kokes were definitely the highlight.
The biggest Kokanee was at 18” which was caught by a future fish slayer. The down side was there were more smaller fish & a smaller grade of this years fish. We bagged many in the 14-16” range. TELL ALL… what was the hot stuff?? Poulsen Cascade - Arrow Flash dodgers & Spinners (see picture). Rainy Day Lures by Ernie Hopkins specifically the tube flies. The last lure used?? Well if you fished with me you are in the loop. No sharing on this one 😂😂. I only used 3 set ups the entire time no need to change anything. RED hot & productive. Like always Santiam Fishing Rods no question put in the tough work!! THANK YOU to my amazing customers & for supporting this journey. It’s always a pleasure to have new & returning customers on the Next Level Boat. I will be taking a break then time to gear up for fall hunting. Ok, I just might go catch a few fish for myself aka practice fishing.

UPDATE: This date is BOOKED… 👍👍

“CANCELLATION”…. I currently have Sunday July 19 at DETROIT LAKE for KOKANEE available due to cancellation. This is rare weekend opportunity due to being fully booked for the summer. Rates are $175 pp minimum of 2 people, kids 12 under 1/2 price with 2 paying adults. The fishing has been really good & will continue to be good throughout the summer. Yes, the pictures posted are from last summer. Give me a call, text or PM to lock in this opportunity for Kokanee at Detroit. 🎣🎣🎣

Wallowa Lake Kokanee 2026 has come to a close for this year… THANK YOU! I’m beyond thankful for the amazing customers that made this journey happen. The fishing was beyond epic at times & occasionally a challenging day thrown in. BIG Kokes this year was the theme. 6lbs x 24.5” was the best. Lots of Kokes over 20” & several breaking 4-5lbs. Next Level fishing 33 straight days on the water is nothing I’ve done before. It’s time for a vacation!! Thank you to local businesses for hosting us for meals: Stubborn Mule … La Laguna..
