The club will have a work party on Saturday, August 22, starting at 8:00 am. The work party will focus on splitting and stacking firewood, and cleaning wads off of the trap fields.

Please contact Tom Boyd if you can supply a wood splitter. Please contact Paul Carulli if you can supply a leaf blower or a lawn sweeper.

The club will have a work party on Saturday, May 9, starting at 9:00 am. The work party will focus on cleaning the clubhouse and range in preparation for the registered and private shoots that are scheduled in May, June and July.

The Albany Gun Club has received a grant from the NRA Foundation for our 2026 Junior shooters program, to encourage juniors to participate in shooting sports.

The grant awarded this year will allow us to distribute one box of shotgun shells and $8.50 to junior shooters per week. A week is Sunday through Saturday.

Junior shooters who do not already have an electronic card will need to purchase one at $3.00. We can deduct the card cost from their first week’s money.

We will require junior shooters to sign the logbook each time they receive ammunition and money.

We will start distributing ammunition and money on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

Please encourage your junior shooters to take advantage of the grant. It will continue until supplies are used up.

The spring meat shoot will be held on Saturday, April 4th, starting at 9:00 am. $6.00 per round, pay 1 in 5. Beginner (16), junior (20), intermediate (24) and advanced (27) yardages, plus games.

Beginners get a prize if they have no wins on a ticket.

Food will be available for purchase

Enough orders have been placed in the current shot order that delivery is worthwhile. The current shot order will be closed after the end of business on Thursday, February 12th.
You can add your order to the list on the counter at the clubhouse. Remember that your order has to be prepaid, at $46.50 per bag. Contact Tom Boyd to make payment.

The necessary rate increase, mentioned in the December 2025 newsletter, has been enacted by the Board. The rate increase will go into effect on March 1, 2026.

The new rates are:

Round of practice
Member - $5.00
Non-member - $6.00
Junior - $4.50
Doubles - Twice the cost of a round of practice

Friday Night Backer
$20.00

A cost of $0.20 per target will be used to price events if no other pricing agreement is in place.

The trap machine at field 5 is being returned to the manufacturer for a maintenance overhaul. Trap field 5 will be shut down starting Friday, January 16th for approximately a month.

Just a reminder that annual memberships at the Albany Gun Club are for January 1st through December 31st of the year.

The electronic card system will allow you to use up the remaining balance on your card. When you next visit the clubhouse, after January 1st, to replenish the balance on your card, you will be presented with the choice of renewing your membership or being raised to the non-member rate.
