Coach Lionel’s Corner 🏈

Defense wins games.

The fastest way to earn playing time is to become a great tackler.

You don’t have to be the biggest.
You don’t have to be the fastest.

But every player can:
✔ Pursue the football
✔ Break down under control
✔ Wrap up and drive through contact

Learn to tackle well and coaches will find a place for you on the field.

Championship teams are built at home before they’re built on the field.

Parents, please help your athlete tonight by making sure they:
✅ Get to bed on time
✅ Drink plenty of water
✅ Complete their home workout
✅ Bring a positive attitude to practice

The teams that improve the fastest aren’t always the most talented. They’re the most consistent.

But the truth is this:

🏈 Teams that block well score more points.
🏈 Teams that tackle well give up fewer points.
🏈 Teams that do BOTH win championships.

This week’s Coach Lionel Corner tip is simple:

✅ Focus on blocking.
✅ Focus on tackling.
✅ Repeat every practice.

The most athletic players I’ve coached are usually the players who are willing to do the fundamentals better than everyone else.
