What a blast! I had the honor of spending last week hosting a therapeutic fishing retreat for 8 combat veterans with Higher Ground. This was an awesome experience and it was truly an honor spending time with these guys and creating some incredible lifelong memories. I want to extend a huge thank you to my friends Brett Cannon CapN Ron Fishing and Dalton Smith for helping me run this trip and showing these guys some true Texas hospitality. I also want to thank Elm Creek R.V. & Campgrounds for donating a couple rooms to our guides and feeding them good before and after they got off the water. Higher Ground is an amazing organization who is making huge strides in helping our veterans through therapeutic outdoor activities. I can’t wait for the next one! Brett Cannon Ronnie Kelley

I had the privilege of taking a fellow Marine buddy fishing today. This dude can flat out catch them! We had a pretty decent day with just over 23lbs on our best 5. I’ve already started booking guide trips for January - May of 2023. The bite is going to be 🔥 so give me a shout and let’s go put some giants in the boat!

Today concludes another successful Higher Ground veterans fishing program! Myself and 3 of my guide buddy’s had the pleasure of taking 8 combat veterans bass fishing for 3 days. I am so privileged to play a small role in these retreats and beyond grateful to have the opportunity to witness the bonds and lifelong friendships that are created on these trips. I want to say thank you to 6th Sense Fishing for donating a bunch of tackle and swag bags to the participants for this trip! Elm Creek R.V. & Campgrounds

Alright folks… we’ve been out of the game for a few months but we’re about to get back on that grind and I’m super excited! This week, we are teaming up with Higher Ground once again and treating 8 combat veterans to a three day bass fishing retreat in West Texas. Higher Ground’s mission and dedication to helping our veterans who have sacrificed so much is something I respect and am very passionate about myself. I am beyond grateful for this opportunity and I’m really looking forward to the next couple weeks of guiding in West Texas.

Got out on Lake Fork for a few hours today. It felt good to get out there after being off the water for 8 weeks. This big girl fell victim to a 6th Sense Fishing Catwalk. The fall feeding pattern is right around the corner so you know what that means… that topwater bite is about to get GOOD! As I continue making progress with my recovery, I’m eager to get back on the grind. I have opened up my schedule to start running guide trips again and my September/October is filling up quick. In the coming months, I will be bouncing back and forth between Lake Fork and OH Ivie. For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to fish either of these amazing fisheries, you’re not going to want to miss out on the fall bite this year. Give me a shout and let’s go make some memories.

Hey everyone! It’s been while. I know that I haven’t posted any fishing reports/photos in a couple months so I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on. As most of you know, my family and I moved to Texas back in March. In the midst of trying to reestablish my business in a new state, I re-aggravated an old military injury and unexpectedly had to undergo my 5th spine surgery. As much as it crushed me mentally to lose the traction I felt like I was gaining with business here, I knew that I needed to have the surgery and take the time needed to rest, heal and recover. To some, resting probably sounds great but let me tell you… guys like me don’t do well when we are stagnant. I digress. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that sometimes sacrifices are necessary to achieve our goals. In this case, my goal has been to make a full recovery so I can get back to work and provide for my family.

I’ve been rehabbing and working really hard on my strength and mobility so I can get back out on the water with you guys! I still have another month of rehab to go but we are in the home stretch and I can’t wait to get back out there in September. My family and I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your continued love and support over the years. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be able to support my family doing what I love. Without you guys, I wouldn’t have the ability to meet awesome people from all over the country who come to fish with me. I’m really excited to start booking some trips and getting back to making lifelong memories on the water with you guys! Stay safe and tight lines!

It’s been an awesome week of fishing here on Lake Fork with some amazing clients! These fish have been making us work for it lately but persistence has been the name of the game. Unfortunately, just as I’ve started to gain some traction with Warrior 2 Bass here in Texas, I will have to undergo another spine surgery next week. I will be out of commission for 4-6 weeks but can’t wait to heal up and get back at it. Between all my friends, family and awesome clients, I cannot thank everyone enough who has supported me through this journey over the years. If you would like to book a trip with me in August or September, give me a shout and let’s make it happen!

It was a good week out on Lake Fork! We’re catching good numbers and some size too. I have a couple days still available in June so hit me up if you want to fish before I’m off the water for 4-6 weeks.

Unfortunately, after recently re-aggravating an old military injury, the doctor informed me that I will have to undergo a 5th spine surgery at the end of June 😣. With that said, I will be forced to take the month of July off to heal. I will be back at it again and hitting it hard starting back up in August. I’m already starting to book dates in August and September so don’t wait to book your trip!!
