Alameda Friends of the Parks Our not for profit foundation supports ARPD parks, programs and we assist Alameda in providing recreational opportunities for the entire community!

Our 501 (C) (3) Foundation's mission is to protect and support recreation and park activities that enhance community health and wellness. We help to enhance child interaction, teamwork and physical and mental stimulation, while helping to build confidence for all who use the facilities and equipment. We are supported by local corporations, development companies, clubs and individuals and hold two major events each years that produce over $20,000 each that is used to support park programs and playground equipment.

The Rotary Club of Alameda will be giving away fruit tree saplings at Spring Shindig this Saturday April 18 12:00-3:00 pm at 1101 West Redline Ave in Alameda as part of our efforts to increase Alameda’s tree canopy. Stop by, learn about Rotary and get a free tree for your yard. We also do tree plantings in Alameda parks a couple of times per year, and help the environment in other ways like monthly shoreline cleanups and our first annual lithium-ion battery recycling event on Saturday May 16 11:00-3:00 at City Hall Plaza. Thanks to everyone who attended our 11th annual Play for the Parks Golf Tournament and Dinner on May 19th! With just over 100 golfers we had a wonderful day raising money in support of our Alameda parks.
