Turkey Creek now owns the golf course and all amenities in Turkey Creek. Anyone who has played the course in the past knows it to be a challenging course. A committee has been working with one of the premier golf course management companies in the U.S. and has reached a point where we now need to put our money into the purchase of prepaid memberships in order to fulfill the company’s requirements.

The top membership is $45,000 per family for a lifetime of golf. This membership can be passed down to family members an unlimited number of times over the years. There are a number of levels of membership in between, including a single membership of $18,000 for a period of ten years. Our goal is $750,000 in memberships and we have already exceeded $450,000. When we reach the goal, we will discontinue sale of the platinum memberships. Regular memberships will be available near the time when work on the course has been completed.

Corporate memberships are available with special terms. These memberships would also be transferable and are perfect for employee of the month, professor of the year, or to help with enticing new talent to your business. It would also be very desirable if attached to a new home.

We welcome residents from Alachua, Gainesville, and surrounding areas to be a part of re-opening Turkey Creek Golf Course by purchasing one of the Platinum or Gold memberships. For further information please contact: Hal Smith at (352)-871-7993 or Todd Hutchinson at (352)-359-3232. If you would prefer email, we can be reached at: [email protected] . We welcome you to read the plans yourself by visiting http://tcmoa.com/home.asp. Go to “Membership Plans” and then “Golf Membership Offering”.

Turkey Creek Master Owners Association (“TCMOA”) is pursuing a relationship with a reputable golf management company to revitalize and re-open the golf course. To this end, the TCMOA, via the Leasing Committee and Negotiation Committee, have been in discussions with several management companies including one of the nation’s most prominent golf operators, Billy Casper Golf, LLC (www.billycaspergolf.com), to finalize a reconstruction and lease agreement for the course.

If selected, Billy Casper Golf, LLC and or its affiliate (“Lessee”) will re-open and operate the golf course as part of the Billy Casper Golf system. The TCMOA will continue to own the property, but Billy Casper Golf and the Lessee will manage and own the business of operating the course and its golf related facilities. The TCMOA is pursuing separate restaurateurs and caterers for operations of other clubhouse related services, which Billy Casper Golf has approved of.

Billy Casper Golf has provided the TCMOA with cost estimates to renovate and re-open the golf course in 2016. The sources of such funds are investment funding (Lessee), sale of a limited number of Platinum Memberships (target of 50 members) and operational income from pre-opening and annual memberships.

The potential partnership between TCMOA and Billy Casper Golf has created a unique situation for residents of the Turkey Creek community and surrounding area to participate in the revitalization and re-opening of the course. The ultimate success of the golf course reconstruction plan is dependent upon identifying a limited number of families (or individuals) that would be interested in purchasing a Platinum Membership. While all golf membership levels are valued and appreciated, membership at the Platinum level will be needed to help offset the upfront capitalization costs to open the course.

If you are interested in learning more about Billy Casper Golf and more specifically, about becoming a Limited Platinum Member please plan to attend an open house at the Turkey Creek Clubhouse on April 25th at 6:30pm. Additional details regarding the costs of Platinum Memberships and the other membership levels will be distributed by April 20th. In the meantime, please save the open house date of April 25th on your calendar. We look forward to seeing you there.

The Purchase Plan passed!!! Thanks to everyone who helped in any way - every single vote was important!

10/14/2015

23 more "Yes" votes are needed to pass the plan. Here is the latest from Sarah:

"WOW!

Wow is all that I can say. An astounding 926 Turkey Creek owners have taken the time to vote on this important issue. It is truly amazing and exciting to see so many people take a stance and participate in the community. You are so close to the goal.

There are still many of you who have not voted. We want to make sure that you have every opportunity to have your vote counted. If you have misplaced your ballot, you can email [email protected] and request a duplicate ballot be emailed back to you. Florida law does allow us to accept email and fax ballots as long as they are signed and on the original ballot form.

The final check for the collection boxes at the mail center and at the office will be at 4 pm today. We will start collecting ballots at the ElderCare of Alachua County at 5:30 pm. The Members Meeting starts at 7 pm and the Board meeting will immediately follow.

Even if you have already turned in your ballot, please attend the meeting as the tally will be announced and further member action, if any, will take place at that time.

The TCMOA thanks everyone who has donated their time to see this vote come to fruition. "

10/14/2015

We only need 44 more votes!!! Ballots can be placed in the drop boxes at the TCMOA office or the mail center through 4:00 tomorrow. After that, they must be returned to the Senior Rec Center on 34th between 5:30 and 7:00. If you need a ballot, call the TCMOA office before noon tomorrow. Our committee can deliver ballots, but you have to authorize it.

10/12/2015

We only need 127 more "Yes" votes! If you haven't turned in your ballot yet, please do so ASAP. They're not due until 7:00 PM Wednesday (if you wait to turn them in at the Senior Center), but there are a lot of people working hard on this, so help us out by voting early. :-)

10/12/2015

We need people to hold signs, wave, and SMILE during morning and evening rush hours for the next few days. We don't have a lot of signs, so bring your yard sign or just wave!

10/08/2015

The last information session before the vote deadline is tonight, 6-9pm, at the TCMOA office. Stop by any time during the session to ask your questions about the Purchase Plan.
