Get ready - you’re about to start seeing a lot more of this handsome mug.

Been off the socials for over a year now, but wow am I ever coming back with a bang.

Been quietly growing the biz this past year, and now it’s time to take this s**t to the next level.

Let’s get it💾

Exercise/fitness/lifting is not a one-dimensional activity. It’s so much more than just lifting weights or runningđŸ‘‡đŸŒ

Your physical fitness is generally a great indicator of your overall health and longevity. Mood and energy are often directly correlated to physical fitness.

It teaches first hand the principles of hard work, discipline, mental fortitude, and choosing long-term gain over short-term pleasure.

All facets of life are improved when you implement strategic movement/lifting/exercise into your daily routine.

If you were looking for a reason to start, here they are aboveâ˜đŸŒ. What are you waiting for?

Behind the neck press - a controversial exercise. Here’s my takeđŸ‘‡đŸŒ

You’ll often see or hear advice on this lift that states “don’t do it, it’s a bad exercise”. This is bad advice. And I’ll tell you why:

(Nearly) every exercise has a specific purpose, and can be performed safely IF you have the strength/mobility required to do so.

For this particular lift, there is a lot of shoulder mobility, and back + core strength needed to perform correctly. If you don’t have these, there are lots of other regressions or alternatives to choose from.

This exercise wouldn’t make sense for everyone to program, but if you’re working on performing Olympic lifts, it’s a must-do exercise.

There is nuance to everything, so a blanket statement of “that’s a bad exercise, don’t do it” is often bad advice.

Do some research and see if an exercise is right for you. Or better yet, hire a coach - they are the professionals!

One of my fitness philosophies is learning how to work the whole body in unison (demonstrated in an exercise like this one).

Isolation exercises (like bicep curls, for example) all have their place and serve their purpose in an exercise program. But if you don’t learn how to use and control these muscles in more compound/dynamic movements (like squats, deadlifts, running, jumping. etc.), then you’re not getting the full benefits of said exercise.

Your muscles work as a team, train them like one!

Something that has to stop being said altogether. It’s straight up false.

Fitness is a must-do at any age. Hell, I’d argue that it becomes even more important the older you get.

Want to be independent in your 80s? You won’t achieve that by sitting on your ass all day.

Obviously, a 25 year old professional rugby player won’t be training the same as a 75 year old woman. Both have different physical requirements, and both SHOULD train differently. But, differently does not mean no exercise at all.

Exercise can be done safely at any age - as long as you have the proper coaching, programming, strategy, and mindset.

Leave a comment or DM to tell me if you agree or disagree, and let’s discuss!

Here’s a great warm up exercise if you’re dealing with knee painđŸŠ”đŸŒ

This is a more advanced progression - if your pain is too much, just walk backwards without any load. Simple as that!

Take care of those knees, and they’ll take care of you. It’s a symbiotic relationship♻

🗣 If you can’t reach overhead - barbell or not- try adding these into your accessory work.

Learn to move strong and efficiently. Don’t avoid it just because you can’t do it YET

A lesson that transcends fitness.

Success doesn’t happen overnight (as cheesy as that sounds).

It’s those who remain consistent that will reach their goals.

Hard work pays off, every time.

Here’s a neat video from a year ago. It’s entertaining, but let’s throw a bit of education spice on there just for funâŹ‡ïž

If you’re finding you’ve plateaued with your current workouts, or you’re just plain bored of your regular routine, switch it up.

The body will react differently when different stimuli are placed upon it.
For example, I can do 50+ regular push ups, but can only do about 5 of these. The body will adapt to the new stress, and create more strength/hypertrophy/whatever your desired outcome - if programmed properly.

Your body will only adapt to the stresses you place upon it. So, if you’re only doing the same 6 exercises all the time at relatively the same weight, you likely won’t be achieving the results you’re looking for.

Experiment with new stuff, and have fun with it.

Overhead pressing causing pain/pinching? Simply not able to get your arms up there YET?

This landmine press is a solid alternative to overhead pressing if you experience any of these issues.

Happy Monday, get after itđŸ’ȘđŸŒ

First polarizing post, here we go!

Yes, sometimes life happens. But 99% of the time you can find at least 20 minutes somewhere in your day for exercise.

If this strikes a nerve with you it likely means that you know it’s true.
