On August 8th, the Akron Lions Club was proud to once again partner with Sleep In Heavenly Peace - IN, Kosciusko for another incredibly successful Bed Build Day! 🛏️💙💛

Thanks to the generosity of our amazing sponsors and the hard work of all 101 volunteers who came out to serve, we were able to build 44 beds for children in our community!

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in making this day possible. Your time, support, generosity, and willingness to serve will make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children. We truly couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you! 👏❤️

Come join us today at Pike Memorial Park!

The 2026 Autumn in Akron Car Show is tomorrow, Saturday, September 5 at Pike Memorial Park. Hosted by Akron Chamber of Commerce, the show benefits Akron Lions Club charity Sleep in Heavenly Peace. The Lions are raising funds to build beds for Akron area children in need. Participants must enter from Virgil Street and park on the soccer field. Registration is 10am to noon. Judging begins at 11am. Awards around 3pm. Wheels on Fire Cancer Crusaders is providing food and Jason Smith of DJ Sonic Party Sounds is providing music. This is a public community event for the whole family. All years, makes and models of any kind of vehicle are welcome. Top 3 each class, special interest trophies, Best of Show, cash prizes, raffle prizes, 50-50 drawing. All proceeds go directly to the charity.
