Garbage Cleanup
Please remember that our policy is "pack it in, pack it out." We have had to clean up the pit area after recent races, so please ensure you pick up all of your garbage before leaving the facility.
Scales Area
- No one is allowed near the karts waiting in line for the scales or on the scales themselves.
- Junior drivers and cage kart drivers are permitted to have one person assist them at the scales.
- Absolutely no driving onto the scales.
Tech Area
Only the driver or one mechanic is allowed in the tech area. All other crew members and spectators must stay out of this zone.
Track and Pit Safety
Everyone must remain behind the fences in the pit area. Spectators are strictly prohibited from entering the track surface or standing behind the walls on the front or back stretch.
Good Sportsmanship
All competitors are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship by acting fairly, observing all rules, showing respect for others, and avoiding unnecessary contact or endangerment of fellow drivers. While inadvertent contact can happen, we expect everyone to accept victory or defeat graciously.
Participant Conduct
A participant includes any official, driver, crew member, or spectator on the premises. All participants must conduct themselves in a safe and responsible manner. Drivers, parents, and guardians are directly responsible for the actions of their pit crew members and guests.
- Violence: Verbal or physical violence of any kind will not be tolerated. A first offense will result in the immediate ejection of the individual, kart, and family. The racer will be disqualified for that day's events and cannot use the race as a drop/throw-out race. A second occurrence will result in the driver, kart, and family being banned for the remainder of the season.
- Substance Policy: Sunset Speedway is strictly an alcohol and drug-free facility. No participant shall enter the pit area under the influence of any impairing substance. Anyone found with alcohol or drugs in the pits will be escorted to the gate, and the associated driver will be disqualified for the day.
At the Board's discretion, any violation of these conduct rules may result in immediate ejection from the site and potential probation or membership suspension.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us keep racing safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Best regards,
Sunset Speedway
