It’s with heavy hearts that we post the closing of our school. We are so proud of the kids in everything they have done and everything they will do.

Shoot for the moon, and if you miss, you’ll still land among the stars.

So proud of everyone on their promotions, kids and coaches alike. We coaches could not have done it without the parents and without the kids wanting to be a part of it. We have watched you all grow and saw the amazing people that you are all going to be. We know that one day you all will change the world. We cannot wait to see it.

Congratulations to everyone, we will miss you terribly. Always know we’re in your corner though. No matter what, if you need something, we’re still here for you.

Some of the young practitioners went to Tap Cancer Out today to compete. We’re proud of them for going out there and pushing themselves as hard as they did. They were all able to take home medals today thanks to their dedication and heart.

Adam took gold 🥇 winning 3 matches with submissions (armbar, rear naked choke, and a triangle)

Elizabeth took silver 🥈 winning one of her matches with a submission (bow and arrow) and pushing until the end on the second match even landing a beautiful Tomonagi

Juliet took bronze 🥉 winning two of her matches with points and one of her matches with a submission (armbar) working her way back up to the bronze after pushing her opponent hard in her first match

Amazing job to all three! You listened well, applied the moves that the coaches have taught you, and stayed in the fight until the end. It was awesome to see you guys complete the moves we have been going over for so long.

Congrats to Caleb (🥇) and Paige (🥈) who competed at the Josh Allen Memorial tournament in Minisink Valley! Amazing job, we’re so proud of you both!

Some of our young practitioners competed at Grappling Industries in Rahway on Sunday. Though not all of them got the results they wanted, they did all put in their best efforts. They all fought hard and left everything they had on the mat. We now know some things we need to work on and know you kids are eager to go compete again (or for the first time since the ones who competed inspired some of their teammates to compete as well). We are all super proud of you guys for going out there. Congratulations to Adam on his gold medal 🥇! Remember we cannot always control the outcome of the match but we can control our effort.

Congrats to the wrestlers who competed this weekend, between the George Fuge Youth Tournament held by Suffern Wrestling and Battle at the Bear Cave (and two other competitions). We are proud of you for going out there and competing! Amazing job to those who placed (Caleb, Brice, Zach, Paige, Dillon, Gabe, Anela, Slade, Jaxson, Jackson, and Jax) and even the ones who didn’t. We know how hard you work, and know you’ll keep working hard to earn those spots. Remember even if you placed you need to keep working hard because now others want to beat you.
Also a big thank you to the coaches that went out to coach the wrestlers. (Wrestlers please remember to thank Trevor and Marty when you see them!! They took time out of their day for you guys!)
Thank you to the parents as well for pushing them and bringing them to competitions. (Wrestlers thank your parents as well)

Yesterday was promotion day at NY United. Between stripes and new belts it was a good day. Congrats to all

Caleb earned the first grey and black belt in the school

Arya earned her grey and white belt

Our other young practitioners earned stripes on their belts and Gary earned 3 stripes on his belt

Caleb competed today at Pride BJJ in White Plains. He brought home a bronze medal 🥉 in no gi and a silver medal🥈 in gi. We know it wasn’t the result he wanted but we are beyond proud of him and his accomplishments. Caleb won 4 of his matches and lost 2 of them. He put up a great fight and we know he is going to come back even stronger like he always does.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there, but a special shout out to the NY United moms. We would be lost without you all. You are all amazing women and are so dedicated to the kids. Thank you and Happy Mother’s Day again from the staff and everyone at NY United
