Thrilled to be at my first event back 8 months post injury at Jumping Branch this weekend 🙌🙌🙌 When you event all the time, I think you can sometimes take the magic of it for granted. There is truly nothing like just being out there, you and your horse, and having a great ride- I truly enjoyed myself and am so grateful to my doctors and PT who made it possible for me to ride again. Notre de Bua “Otto” started us off on Saturday in the ON. This was his very first event as he was previously a showjumper. He was fantastic across all phases and finished up 2nd on his dressage score! Although he is a new horse for me, he was the first horse I rode and the first horse I jumped after my injury, so it was fitting he was also my first ride back eventing. Although he is new to Eventing, he gives the feeling of a seasoned and mature horse and I think he has a huge future. Pokerface battled some very heavy rain on Sunday in the OT and impressed me so much. With the heavy rain and slick footing I decided to take it easy out on XC, so we dropped out of second place, but the maturity, balance and rideability he showed in even the worst weather conditions made me so proud. I think so much of him- he’s really a big boy now- and am so grateful to his owners who allow me to have the ride 🥹🥹🥹 Huge thank you to Iselle Longman and Krista Kuehl for grooming this weekend! Thank you to the community of Aiken! So many people approached me with kind words this weekend. It is so amazing to be back out Eventing with you all again!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
