From Lindsey Peaster:
Please see the note below from Shasta. She is trying to get each MOCO travel ball team to think about helping out with this ministry. Lisa is the principal at MCPS. If anyone is interested, let me know :)
Christ Thru Baseball will be traveling to Nicaragua for their 3rd annual baseball tournament July 2-9. They use baseball as a ministry tool to reach young men in Nicaragua to share the Gospel. They are in need of donations of pants, belts, socks, cleats, and gloves. It costs about $75 to transport, house, feed, and uniform each boy. They will have 120 boys playing in the tournament.
As a part of Morgan County Travel Baseball teams, I would like for each travel team to share with their boys and families about this ministry. If our teams could come together to present Christ Thru Baseball with money and donations for this trip that would so awesome! I would also like for our teams to be in prayer for them as they travel to do this mission work. I would like to have the money and donations collected by June 10th. Each team can have a date for the boys to bring in their money that they have collected. I will work with coaches on a good date for us to have the teams get together to present the donations to Shane and Lisa Daniel. Lisa is the principal at MCPS. Shane and Lisa Daniel both travel each year to Nicaragua. Anyone donating with a check, please make payable to Christ Thru Baseball.
It is a little late to have a fundraiser so maybe we can just ask our baseball families to be in prayer about how they can help this mission trip if they are interested. Some of the families may have churches or work at places that would like to donate. Every bit will help. Since our boys have been given everything to play ball with, this will also provide us as parents an opportunity to talk about mission work with our kids and the importance of sharing the Gospel with others and how other boys do not even have cleats, pants, or bats to play ball. Some of the boys may have things at home that they can donate or they can work around the house to earn money to give for this trip. Just some ideas…
I look forward to what our MOCO Baseball Travel teams can do to help this ministry. They have a page “Christ Thru Baseballâ€
