Pictures don’t quite do this one justice. This call is being donated to a local Ducks Unlimted chapter. This one has great sound but I’m still working to get it perfect before getting a custom jig and releasing a call model. Great top end and barky. True duck tone.

I also played with the mixing the grain between the barrel and the insert. Turned out to be really sharp.

Hey guys and gals! I know I’ve been a little quite the last few months but trust me, I’ve been grinding in the shop working to produce the best duck call I can!

I am going to order a batch of ZG Custom Calls hats for the season. I need a minimum order of 12 so please let me know if you are interested.

They are going to be Richardson 436, waxed canvas hats with the buckle back. Color options are olive, brown, dark tan, or navy. The will come with a leather patch of the original ⚡️ZG logo.

I’m selling these hats at cost plus shipping. That should be about $25 plus shipping. I’m just trying to keep my brand relevant as I’m continuing to work on things. 😁

After a nice break I finally got back in the shop this weekend. A break after duck season and during turkey season, was just what I needed to get me motivated again.

Unfortunately I will not be able to make Callapalooza. But it’s probably for the best. I took those few weeks off to reflect on why I started call making in the first place. To be honest, I think I started for the wrong reasons.

Call making is a long journey and I think I tried to rush things. I’m going to slow things down a little bit. I’m going to focus on deliberate progress and joy of call making, not accidental progress.

I have some good things in the works with a new prototype and a few new processes. I will continue to drive to make the best duck caller I can make. Thank you to all of those who have supported me so far but the best is yet to come! ⚡️
