When we were building our first camper in our garage all we wanted was someone to ask a simple question to and get a straightforward answer. The free DIY forums were helpful in some ways, but often times we’d ask a question and get 50 conflicting answers, making us more confused than before we even asked. It’s understandable, everyone was building different campers with ultimately different goals.

So we build the community we wished we had as first time builders, and created the plans and resources to go with it.

Crisp mornings or changing leaves, what’s your favorite part of fall?🍂

Growing up in Florida has made me obsessed with this brief season, pointing out all the vibrant colors, and getting in as much camping as possible. Our Explorer® Tremor® is the family car on weekdays and the trail rig on weekends. We’re squeezing every last campsite out of fall before it’s gone.

Builder feature of the week 🛠️

What if you could build your own camper for around $10K and take it wherever life leads you?

That’s exactly what Olivier had in mind. With plans to move to Whistler, BC, he wanted an affordable place to stay and the freedom to travel whenever he wanted.

As a carpenter, he had the skills to build it himself, and our DIY Vaga plans saved him the time of designing everything from scratch.

Four months of weekend work later, he had his own teardrop ready for adventure.

So what’s it going to be?
Are you leaning towards building or buying?

Honestly the answer may be different for everyone. It truly depends on what you want out of it. But I will say the build is one of the best parts of owning a DIY camper. You’ll be challenged and rewarded in ways buying from a lot just can’t do.
