Congratulations V! I'm so proud of you girl πŸ₯³

My virtual client Vanessa has been CRUSHING her fitness goals at the gym thanks to her amazing accountability 5AM team ! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

THATS RIGHT 5 A M! C'mon people let's do better πŸ‘Š

Vanessa is an amazing mom who finds a balance of spending time with friends, family, gym-time, and Church - all the while working full-time & being consistent eating nutritious foods to build & repair muscle πŸ’ͺ

Some days may have been harder than others, but CONSISTENCY IS KEY πŸ”‘

I couldn't be more proud of her of how far she has come since January!

I would like to congratulate my virtual client Melody for completing her fastest 5k! πŸ₯³
(Swipe to see her splits!)

Getting here, where she is today, was not an easy task for her.

After she completed her first half marathon last December with a plantar fasciitis, I decided it was time to teach her the importance of running drills, cadence, recovery, breathing techniques, strength training and so forth.

Doing everything I can to help her prevent another running injury.

Nutrition was another subject I had to coach her on to be sure she fueling her body throughout the day to be energized for her runs and daily tasks.

I have seen the good & the ugly throughout her running seasons, but quitting was never an option.

Learn & be inspired by who is a wife, mom of two kids, photographer, professor and still finds time to devote herself to God.

The scale does not measure success...

This was the exact thought that was running through my head after weighing myself one day and not being happy with my current weight.Β

So the truth comes out πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I sit down at my work desk and I am analyzing my training & nutrition progress. There isn’t much of a difference. I can honestly say I eat way better now, then I did 3 yrs ago. I take vitamins and I have more miles logged than I did last year living in Colorado.Β

Thyroid condition was ruled out a couple of months ago when I got it checked. I made sure the clinic did a full panel.Β

After seeing my dietitian and informing her about my weight gain - I wanted to know if she knew anything about transitiong from high elevation to sea level would cause my weight gain. She said that training in elevation the body burns more calories.Β

My response: Wow. That makes total sense!Β

I did feel more fit & stronger training in Colorado than I do here in California. But, did I actually lose my fitness? No, not at all. Once I was acclimated in California I started training for two half marathons. I got a PR in my second half marathon race AND I ran faster than I did in Colorado.

After experiencing the Bod Pod last Friday, I wanted to know my current tape measurements. I find out that not much has changed since I moved here except for my glutes. My glutes gained 2-inches since I have been here! I finally broke the barrier of 39-inches - and now I'm seeing progress with my b***y gainz.

B***y gainz took time for me because of my love for running.Β

All of this to say, do not allow the scale to measure your success. This is what a fitness journey looks like. It doesn’t look sexy nor will it feel sexy. You just have to be willing to be committed, dedicated, and consistent with EVERYTHING.Β

Stay encouraged my friends πŸ‘

This WHOLE month was absolutely NUTS!

1. I fall behind on work after my husband's San Joaquin race 😩
2. I got hacked 😭
3. My sister's dog passed away (old age) 😭😭
4. I ran a challenging half marathon which I only had 3 weeks to train for 😬

Man, what a month! But I'm so grateful that God's grace was there through it all πŸ‘

Grateful for all my clients patience and understanding πŸ™ ❀

Congratulations to Bianca and Jairo for losing weight through the Food Freedom Project!!! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

This was an unexpected benefit for the both of them. They acknowledged that the purpose of the project was to help them eat healthier and experience how to add veggies to their meals.

I did have Bianca shoot for 7-8hrs of sleep, mitigate stress levels, hydrate and exercise at least 2x per week minimum 20-30 minutes.

Without a training plan she did her very best to do all of those things while being a mom full-time, working from home and cooking nutritious meals for her family πŸ‘ͺ

This was definitely not an easy task for her, but while trying she was able to lose 5lbs! πŸ₯³

Aaaand Jairo lost a total of 8lbs just by getting his 7-8hrs of sleep per night while eating healthy 🀯

This proves how sleep & stress levels can play a HUGE role while trying to lose weight.

It was an honor and .gonzalez!!! Thank you for hopping on this project with me πŸ’ͺ

Part 3: Race Recap

Beyond grateful for my husband being there to support me and being my #1 fan πŸ’“Β

He catered to me ALL DAY!Β

Drove me to my race, took pictures, recorded everything on the gopro, took us out to eat, got us some coffee and Crumbled Cookie, and took us home.

I felt so tired & exhausted. My feet & claves were in pain after the race. I just couldn't walk. Even now, the pain hasn't fully gone away. But that's my fault because I have been laaazay to roll out my claves & feet.Β

My husband, again catered to me. He warmed up my dinner and brought it to me while I was sitting on the couch.Β

He is the absolute sweetest husband I could ever ask for πŸ₯°

Closing in at 63.8 miles this month πŸ™Œ

Not as many as last month but they were still good miles! I enjoyed every minute of it 😊

Next month hopefully I will be able to hit 70 or 75 miles while staying persistent at the gym πŸ’ͺ

Let's go March πŸ‘

02/23/2022

This 10 mile run/hike was a little more brutal because we only had one day to recover AND we ran out of gels 😬

Which did hurt us just a little bit even though we had a our snacks and water.

The weather was AaaAmazing! I think we would have survived the run/hike without long-sleeves πŸ˜…

Also, this time we got footage of us hiking and eating...not just running lol

Enjoy!

02/20/2022

Come take a stroll with us as we run + hike 10 miles at Will Roger's State Park!

Aaaahh....another testimony! πŸ™Œ

I love hearing these wins from my client's. It truly brings me joy!

God is doing something right here, right now with this project which I was hesitant to allow more volunteers to be part of in the beginning.

Now, I'm seeing God's purpose behind this project. It's not just to help others restore their relationship in the kitchen or find a daily routine to prep their meals but to bring the family together ❀

God loves food too! He created the earth with nourishing food for us to eat, however it is our job to make sure we are taking care of oursleves because our body is the temple.

This is what being courageous is all about. Doing something out of your comfort zone in the kitchen and with your family πŸ’ͺ

I would like to recognize my NEW client Felicia! πŸ₯³

She is a full time nurse and going to school to be an RN, which means time in the kitchen will be challenging.

This is amazing because I was about to announce that I am looking for a college student to volunteer for this project and here she is!

God is truly good and He knows exactly who He wants me to assist with their health goals & fitness journey πŸ’ͺ

Establishing Felicia's meal plan was a bit challenging knowing that she has very limited time in the kitchen, BUT that's okay because I love challenges!

Let's go Felicia πŸ‘
