Along with the rest of the world, we send our sincerest condolences to the family of Chuck Norris. Mr. Gyro first had the pleasure and honor of meeting Mr. Norris at a tournament in Oklahoma City, OK back in 1983. Mr. Gyro was there to compete in a national tournament. Mr. Norris came out of the elevator greeting Mr. Gyro and his fellow competitors who were gathered in the lobby. Mr. Norris sat down with them and engaged them all in a conversation about tournaments and sparring. Mr. Norris was not only very interested in what divisions they were competing in, etc., but he was as humble as one might expect saying that Johnny and the others had advanced well beyond what Mr. Norris "did in his day". Johnny commented to him that they all wished they had Mr. Norris' skills and his response to that was that he "would be a Green Belt amongst you all. Good luck, gentlemen to you all on your fights.". What a warm, humble man to take the time to sit and speak to a young group of up and coming fighters who looked up to him with such respect and admiration even back then. Johnny Gyro among them. Johnny took from this that you "could be the baddest dude in the room, but you don't have to act like it." Life lessons learned from Mr. Norris. RIP Chuck Norris as your remarkable legacy lives on for generations to come.

With great respect and sincerest gratitude, we honor our veterans not just on this Veterans Day, but every day for their brave and courageous sacrifices and service. We thank you for protecting our great nation and our freedom. May God bless you all for doing what so many could not.

It was also gratifying to have the pleasure this evening of seeing Council members and/or their children that we taught as well years ago.

Agoura Hills City Council Meeting

Such an incredible honor tonight to not just receive an award of recognition from the City of Agoura Hills, but to hear such heartwarming words of support From Mayor Penny Sylvester and Dr. Marc Silverman made it difficult for Johnny and I to speak. We could never thank all of our past and present JGK students, families and supporters enough for their incredible loyalty through the years. June 12, 2025 officially marked our JGK 30th anniversary and we still feel as excited to get on the mat together as we did that first day in 1995. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for making what we do for a living not seem like work at all. It truly is and has been our privilege and honor.

We, along with our great nation owe you a huge debt of gratitude. Every one of you are the very definition of a hero along with our first responders, all of whom make this country so incredibly proud! May God bless each one of you for protecting us and our freedom!!
