No elk for me this year, but my buddy Ross Boley took his first cow elk! We stalked to 40 yards as he made a perfect shot! She slid down the mountain about 100 yards before wedging on a couple of quakies!
It worked out well, as we used it in our favor while breaking it down.
The scenery was beautiful from our camp at 11,400 feet. We had a mule deer couple that would come within 10 feet of us at times. They must have known we had elk tags lol!
I’ll be in the shop this week usual hours Tuesday thru Friday 3-8 and Saturday 11-4.
Deer season is right around the corner!!

I’ll be leaving for an elk hunt in 3 weeks, August 29th. If you have been thinking about a New Mathews ARC, need a string, bow work, tuning, or arrows stop in!!
I will have coverage for the shop while I’m gone, but bow and arrow work will all be done in the order it is received when I return September 15th.

Hey All!
The shop is back to full time this week 3-8 Tuesday thru Friday, Saturday 11-4.
The scouting was tough but successful. First couple pics are over 12,600’ and steep. 5 days , 19 miles, and over 6000’ of elevation gain. I felt accomplished till I saw the Marlboro man had beat me there, likely in a pair of slick soled cowboy boots and wranglers. Smoked a cig in the same spot I was sucking air.
Found elk, moose, muleys, snow, and a few downpours. My buddy Boley is going to make a great weatherman. He was correct 0% of the time. Lmao! At least we know the first rule of the mountains: never go anywhere without a rain poncho!
