Parents, Afton Rec has been invited to participate in the following soccer camp being held in Osceola July 10th thru 14th. Please see the attachment if you are interested. The camp is being run by Challenger and Osceola Park and Rec. On the registration form there is an 800 number you can call if you have any questions.

The Afton Rec Board is happy to announce that we will be offering a food voucher to volunteers that sign up and work a minimum 2 hour shift in the concession, entrance gates or scoreboards. With everyone’s hectic schedules we feel this would be a great way to involve folks to give back, volunteer and help keep Youth Sports alive.
The way it works is simple; sign up and work a minimum 2 hour shift in the concession, entrance gate or scoreboards and you will receive a food voucher that can be used the day of the event only for a FREE hotdog or Hamburger and a FREE drink of choice. Your food voucher will be given to you at the completion of your shift.(last shift will be given during shift). One voucher per day per person.
To sign up, just message the Rec FB page anytime that you see a tournament approaching or let any Rec Board Member know that you are available. This program will be ready to start effective 2-18. Thanks for your support of Youth Athletics.
No Kids allowed to work in concession under age 14 unless “give back” hours or “community/volunteer service” hours are being used.

ATTENTION: Afton Rec Volunteer Coaches or If you are interested in volunteering to coach any Afton Rec teams, The Afton Rec board is offering a FREE AED/CPR Training on March 25, 2017 at the Afton Community Center. There will be two sessions. Please contact Sara Bickford 515-210-4687 if you would like to take advantage of this training. . The Afton rec received a grant to purchase one and to have training on how to use the machine. The Afton Rec will have the AED machine located at the concession stand at the rec fields and it is portable so it can be taken to school football field during rec football games.

Please help spread the word. Coach Brown would like to reschedule the 6th, 7th and 8th grade basketball clinic. Possible make up date Jan 8th. It is just too dawg gone cold out. Also, Rec basketball practices are also cancelled do to the cold.

Today was the last soccer games of the season! This season, the Afton Rec soccer program increased the number of players that participated from last year! Thanks for all the volunteers that help keep this program going! This year the older two teams were able to combine and play Murray's two teams! Looking forward to next year as our program continues to grow!!! Thanks again everyone!!! Hope your kids had a fun season as well as learning more soccer skills!!!

Game day!! Sorry no concessions at the Rec fields today but Rec concessions are available at the high school football field concession stand- Rec football games today so everything is over at the school- feel free to run over and grab a bite to eat and drink!!

Shin guards are at the concession stand if any player needs a pair- they are used FYI! Also Biscuits and gravy, water and Powerade are available for purchase at concession stand!! Coffee will be ready shortly!
