Wilson Take KCI Telecommunication Mad Dawg Win Over Siler; Cline Take Points Lead
Mason, Alexander, Abernethy, Goss and Smith Pick Up Farm Points Race Victories
Another record setting Mad Dawg field was on hand for the KCI Telecommunications Mad Dawg Summerpalooza this past Saturday, July 18th. The racing was just as hot as the weather with Monroe, NC’s Bill Wilson taking his second career Mad Dawg 4.50 win over Maiden, NC’s Tim Siler. Big Bill used a .006ths better reaction time in his ’63 Chevy Corvette and run a dead on 4.504 ET at 156 MPH to hold off the ’53 Studebaker of Siler with a too quick ET of 4.488 at 156 MPH. The three time Mad Dawg champion Nick Cline of Mooresville, NC in his ’38 Chevy anchored this field with a #1 qualifying effort of a 4.5005. Cline also scored big points with a semi-finals finish to take the Mad Dawg 4.50 Points lead going into the August 15th, DAWGpalooza.
Picking up the James”MF”Bunton Memorial BURNOUT awards was Shane Westmoreland in his Oak Ridge, NC based Chevy Beretta and Greer, SC’s Trey Thompson in his Chevy S-10 Truck.

In FARM Points Race action Ryan Mason of Mooresville, NC used a .007 reaction time to pick up his first ever FARM TOP Eliminator win in his Chevy powered Dragster. Mason, the 2026 Mooresville TOP Champ defeated hired gun Mark Dudley, Jr driving the Richie Motorsports Chevy Malibu by .003ths MOV. High Point, NC’s Danny Dilldine drove his Beal racing Engines/Danny’s Auto Repair Dragster to a semi-final finish.
In was the battle of two great racing families in the finals of Foot Brake as Timmy Alexander of Mocksville, NC drove his dad’s K-Ray’s Chevy Nova to the win over Lexington, NC’s Brian Holbrook in his Chevy Camaro. The Greene Family racing Chevy Nova with the “Bull” Kaleb Greene of Liberty, NC was the lone semi-finalist.
The “Champ is back” as Gunner Abernethy of Olin, NC picking up his second FARM JR Dragster win of the year. Gunner used a better reaction time to beat out Salisbury, NC’s Spencer Furman in his JR finals. Hilderban, NC’s Easton Teague and Trinity, NC’s Lucas Lister were the semi-finalist.
Veteran Farm Street class racer Bob Goss of Advance, NC scored the Street division win over Statesville, NC’s Larry Hollifield both driving Chevy Pick up Trucks. Kevin Winebarger of Todd, NC and Jason Hutchens of Yadkinville, NC were semi-finalist.
Three generation drag racer Mason Smith of Providence, NC picked up his second FARM TEEN division win defeating Mocksville, NC’s Hunter Alexander. Layla Layton and Jaxon Taylor were Teen semi-finalist.
Next Mad Dawg 4.50 and FARM Points Series race will be Saturday, August 15th, the Wilkins Racing Engines presented by Youker Motorsports DAWGpalooza and FPS race # 8 at Farmington Dragway.
