The MiSCA race season officially kicked off this weekend at a rainy Stony Creek Metropark, and 41 ThunderCats took to the start line ready to ride!
Our riders brought the energy, grit, determination, and plenty of smiles. From first-time racers to experienced competitors, it was amazing to watch these kids challenge themselves, cheer each other on, and conquer goals they set for themselves.
Some highlights from an incredible weekend:
🏁 5 riders competed in their very first MTB race
😲 Our youngest ThunderCats were just 4 and 5 yo
🥇 18 riders earned podium finishes
👕 8 riders brought home leader jerseys
🥇🥈🥉 14 riders finished in the top 3
🏆 ThunderCats finished 3rd as a team in Elementary, 4th in Middle School, and 5th in High School
The results are exciting, but what we're most proud of is seeing our athletes push through challenging conditions, build confidence, support their teammates, and have fun doing it. Whether they stood on the podium, achieved a personal goal, or simply crossed the finish line, every ThunderCat represented our team with heart and determination.
A huge congratulations to all of our riders for an outstanding start to the season!
We're also incredibly grateful for our coaches, who spend countless hours helping these athletes prepare, grow, and succeed. Thank you for your dedication, encouragement, and for your commitment!
