Friday was dry and sunny (after a 30 min fog delay) for 24 incredible singles matches!! ⛳️
Todd White finished 4 & 3 over Michael Flindt (not pictured), Randy Haag went 2 & 1 to beat John Kemp, Mike McCoy finished 2 up against Stephen Jensen, and Robert Gerwin prevailed in his match against Rupert Kellock to finish 2 & 1. Louis Brown went 4 & 3 over Pascal Grizot and Gene Elliott finished 3 & 1 over Ronnie Clark.
The mid-am US men also put on an incredible show winning four of their six matches. Stephen Behr and Scott Harvey both finished 5 & 4 over their European partners Matthew McClean and Matt Roberts. After missing his matches Thursday due to illness, Evan Beck came back Friday to finish 1 up over Caolan Rafferty. Will Davenport also beat Markus Habeler 2 & 1.
It wasn’t a complete shutout though as the European’s did manage to win two matches today. Alexis Leray won his match 2 & 1 over Joe Deraney and Hugh Foley beat Andrew Price 3 & 2.
The women’s scoreboard was a mix of red and blue all day with Europe putting up 7.5 points and the American women 4.5 points. The four matches won by the US were three mid-ams: Lauren Greenlief 2 up over Celine Manche, Jackie Rogowiczs 5 & 4 against Jennifer Saxton, and Kelsey Chugg finished 3 & 2 over Jessica Ross. One senior match was won by the US team when Ellen Port beat Carole Danten Azfi 3 &2.
The European seniors won four of their six matches with Helene Malvy 1 up over Lara Tennant, Jackie Foster 2 & 1 over Suzi Spotlesonn, Sophie Ducrey 1 up over Kathy Hartwiger, and Slyvie Van Molle 3 & 2 over Martha Leach. Tara Joy-Connelly and Annick Riff played all 18 holes before halving their match.
