The West Wing gets so hot, humid and stuffy. Thankfully the horses now have fans!

We purchased agricultural grade fans that have a closed motor to help avoid any issues with potential fire. We also have them hooked to the lights so one flip of the switch does it all. They are staggered down the aisle to help push the air through. Felt pretty nice in there! The West Wing is fairly closed off except the two doors while the rest of the barn has better air flow with the windows. We are planning to place a few more strategically through the center aisle as well. Baby steps that feel pretty big. All to make the horses more comfortable while in our care.

Smoothie is finally at home with her family! Thank you Jana LeClaire and Karen LeClaire for allowing us the opportunity to care for such a sweet and special girl. The pictures you shared are beautiful and check out the rainbow in the background that welcomed her home!

It’s such a bittersweet feeling as we love our boarders like they’re our own. While saddened to say goodbye we feel so fortunate to build the relationships we have. The LeClaire family has been patient and kind as we have settled in. Smoothie is greatly missed, but we’re so happy she is now right next door to her family. They have built a beautiful home for her ❤️

It’s a nice feeling as a parent and barn owner to walk in on a calm impromptu lesson in the arena. My daughter worked with Candyrock as Ananiesa Sullivan-Watson and Johnny watched on. We are so fortunate to have brought on a trainer who takes a person centered approach, working with you to build confidence, while enjoying your time in saddle. Not only that, but encouraging a solid relationship and foundation through groundwork and simple quality time.

We completed two of the hay feeders and set them out for the horses to explore. So far they’re happy with them. Each herd will get additional feeders as overly excited mares had a bit of a disagreement over who should get to it first. We placed extra hay in the pasture to offset the feisty ladies until the 2nd one arrives.

It’s a great feeling to watch them explore and for us to see even small steps in the right direction. Thank you for supporting us!

Hay feeders are here! Not only will this help our pastures look nicer, but it will allow for less hay loss and cleaner eating for the kids.

It's MYTHBUSTER time! 🔎

The core vaccinations for every horse, regardless of their travel status, include Rabies, Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), Western Equine Encephalitis (WEE), West Nile Virus (WNV), and Tetanus.

Unfortunately, mosquitoes, bacteria, and rabid animals do not discriminate when it comes to infecting horses. Whether a horse is in a freshly bedded stall, wide open pasture, or on show grounds, mosquitoes can potentially infect your horse with life threatening diseases such as EEE, WEE, and/or WNV.

Tetanus is a common clostridial bacteria present in the dirt and can infect a horse who has never left its home just the same as a horse who shows every weekend if it doesn't have proper vaccine status.

Rabies is a 100% fatal disease once clinical signs are present and is easily transmissible to humans and other animals both at home and on the trails.

It's also important to note that different regions in the U.S. may have additional "core" recommendations so be sure to ask your veterinarian what is best for your horse!

Laramie and I have been eagerly awaiting our newest employees and they finally arrived! T3R is going to see what the buzz is about with Biological Fly Control from Organic Cowboy Biological Fly Control.

As much as we love the warmth spring brings, we could care less of the flies that pester our horses, cats, dog and us. I called them Parasitic Wasps before, but you could call them Parasitoid Wasps, Fly Predators, Fly Eliminators or your best employee. Whatever floats your boat. They do not sting, they’re super tiny and while gross it is pretty interesting how they get rid of flies. You can Google that if you’d like.

We will be receiving a package every few weeks that we’ll sprinkle around the barn and pastures. We’ve heard only good and can’t wait to see some more relaxed horses this summer. I do have fly spray on hand, but just maybe nature can sort this out for us. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Thank you to Fort Drum Rodeo and Equestrian Club for spending the day with us at T3R! We are so grateful to be able to host your clinic and open house. Laramie is a veteran himself and I am the daughter of one. To be able to support our veterans, warriors and first responders means the world to us. It was a cold day, but still beautiful and spent with a great group of people. We look forward to hosting again!
