Krazz is one of the NSW founding fathers and the first to tell us our name would likely "...disenfranchise some Queenslanders..." We love our mate dearly and fully support him while he recovers.
Get around him, folks.
Our founder, coach, mentor, and friend, Wayne "Krazz" Kraska, suffered a stroke yesterday. He underwent surgery to remove the blockage and is currently recovering. He is alert, talkative, and desperate for a Coke. He's even asked the doctors if he'll be able to return to play later in the year. In a word, he's tough.
As a club, we have done our best to reach out directly to those who know him well. We have worked to ensure that all his loved ones have been informed, and he has given his blessing to share his status through social media.
There is no minimizing the impact this man has had on us in Rome, on Aussie Rules in America, and beyond. He and his brand, Play Aussie, have been both the ignition and the anchor for players and clubs nationwide. He has driven countless hours to deliver Sherrins and club uniforms, organize development games, and umpire.
Wayne Kraska is the definition of dedication and passion. He may not realize it, but through his drive to grow Aussie Rules, he has built a community—turning clubmates into an extended family.
