at or a player and need a way to get out of a batting slump, we are here to offer insight about all things related to baseball. The name BaseballSmith comes from the idea of a blacksmith or a goldsmith transforming a raw metal into a finished piece through fire, hard work and a skillful touch. We realize that success in baseball is not achieved over night. Rather success in baseball is achieved through long journey made up of hard work and dedication. It is my belief that players will do what they enjoy…the more they do what they enjoy (practice), the better they get...the better they get, the more they practice…the more they practice, the better they get...and the cycle

Hit with more power by
1. Creating stretch on the stride
2. Maintaining stretch at the beginning of rotation

Super simple…but keep your head still until the back shoulder hits your chin.

What do you really want for your ballplayer? ⚾

Of course you want him to perform.

But I believe it’s bigger than hits, power or batting average.

You want your kid to love the game. You want him to play freely, compete with confidence and not be afraid to fail.

That comes from understanding what he’s doing, trusting his preparation and knowing how to make adjustments when things don’t go his way.

The goal isn’t just to build a prettier swing. It’s to build a better ballplayer.

That’s the kind of player we develop at BaseballSmith.

Baseball parents, developing a better hitter is about more than building a better swing.

It’s about helping your player understand what he’s doing, trust his preparation, make adjustments, and compete with confidence.

⚾ Build the player. Not just the swing.

Your kid is rolling over hitting weak ground balls when you know he can do much better than that. Try this simple adjustment to see huge improvements in his swing. Follow for more baseball hitting tips and techniques. Also, if you’re in the market for premium batting gloves check out Lit Mitts.

Success leaves clues.

Great hitters rotate around a centered axis.

Weight transfers off the backside into a firm front leg.

Share with a player that struggles to consistently achieve these key reference points.

Good coaching isn’t about fixing everything at once.

There are other things in this hitter’s swing that I could address.

But they’re not the priority right now.

We’re working on controlling the move forward, creating better balance and allowing him to rotate around a more stable center axis.

Three swings. One priority. Progress with each rep.

The goal isn’t a perfect swing.

Identify what matters most. Work on it. Then progress from there.

A good lesson isn’t just about taking swings. It’s about building a progression.

Today we started with barrel accuracy, moving the tee to different locations and challenging the barrel to adjust.

Then we progressed to front toss → live BP → machine work, adding movement, decision-making and velocity along the way.

The goal is to take the work from the drill and make it show up when the game speeds up.

How would you describe this bat path?

There are a lot of ways to teach a swing. I’m interested in what you see here.

See the difference?

We’re working on getting the barrel through the baseball instead of cutting the swing off.

I’m opening a few more spots for in-person lessons this fall.
