Today wraps up Miss Kam’s 4th swim season, and my momma heart is overflowing.

I love getting to teach alongside my daughter and share so many of my swim families and tiny coworkers with her. Over the years I’ve watched Kamdyn grow into such an encouraging, and talented instructor.

Her swimmers adore her, and watching each child grow in skill and confidence from lesson one to their very last day always make me so proud — of them and her.

Simply put, the pool deck is happier and brighter with Miss Kam in the water!

Swim Lessons Save Lives | National Learn to Swim Day!

Today we celebrate more than swimming—we celebrate confidence, courage, and life-saving skills. Learning to swim is a journey filled with small steps, big goals, nervous beginnings, and proud moments when skills finally click.

The more your child swims, the more confident they become and the stronger their swim skills grow. I encourage you to give your child as many opportunities to be in the water as possible because time in the water matters. Every kick, every breath, and every brave try counts. Water safety skills learned, practiced, and mastered make a real difference.

For the last 26 years, I’ve been grateful to be part of the water safety community. One decision, one choice — completely changed and shaped my life for what it is today.

On International Water Safety Day, I’m reminded how one layer of protection, one lesson, one moment of awareness can help shape and keep a family safe in and around the water.

Today, I also honor the families and individuals whose lives have been forever changed by water-related tragedies and life-changing moments. Your stories continue to remind me why this work matters.

Happy Mother’s Day 🌸

For 26 seasons now, I’ve had the privilege of celebrating Mother’s Day alongside the incredible women who bring their children to my pool deck. The mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and the many loving caregivers who show up every day for these kids.

Over these same 26 seasons, I’ve also been raising my own six children. So while I’ve been cheering on your little ones in the pool, I’ve been living the same busy, beautiful, exhausting, and deeply meaningful journey of motherhood right alongside you.

I know the early mornings, the packed schedules, the worries, the proud moments, and the quiet hopes we all carry for our children. And I see the love behind every child who steps into the water — love from the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and caregivers who are guiding them through life.

Thank you for trusting me with your children. It is one of the greatest honors of my life to be a small part of their story and to walk this journey alongside so many incredible women.

Wishing all of you a Mother’s Day filled with appreciation, love, a chance for a moment of quiet and the reminder that the work you do every day truly matters.

May is National Water Safety Month, and it’s the perfect time to pause, plan, and pack your layers Before the Splashes start this season.

Water safety isn’t just one decision—it’s a series of layers. Each layer is like having a Plan B, ready to protect your child if something unexpected happens and layers breakdown.

Family Water Safety Huddle:
Take 10 minutes this month to gather the adults in your child’s life for a water safety discussion.

Decide roles, review skills, and make a clear plan before your family hits the water.

Then, before every activity in and around the water, run your 2-minute check:
✔️Water Watcher
✔️Shift Times
✔️Barriers
✔️Swim Skills
✔️CPR Readiness
✔️Bright Swimwear

Think of it like when you leave the house with kids, you don’t just hope you have everything you’ll need, you pack intentionally, and you always have a Plan B.

Water safety works this same way. You must pack intentionally. Prevention and Response layers are both essential to your family’s safety.

Hope is not a plan. Layers are. Layers save lives.
