I want to start this post with a huge thank you to every single person who played a part in making our 2nd charity event a success. Thank you to the spectators, lifters, judges, volunteers, and everyone else who helped make this day possible.
When I started The Iron Bar, my goal was to create a home for powerlifters, bodybuilders, and anyone who simply wanted to get stronger and make progress. As the gym grew, I felt a strong desire to give back to the community in a meaningful way. I wasn't exactly sure how we would do it, but I knew it needed to be part of our mission.
Our first charity event was small, but it made a difference. This summer event turned into something far bigger than I ever imagined. We had more than 30 lifters compete and welcomed over 60 people through our doors throughout the day.
Because of your generosity, we now have a mountain of toys and hundreds of dollars in donations that will be used to purchase even more outdoor toys and activities for children this summer. Seeing our community come together for a cause bigger than ourselves has been incredible.
I am beyond grateful for every person who contributed, whether you competed, donated, volunteered, judged, coached, or simply showed up to support the event. You helped make a real difference in the lives of local kids.
And we're just getting started.
We're already planning our next charity powerlifting event for the first weekend of December, where we'll be raising money and collecting donations to help provide Christmas presents for children in our community.
So get back to training. Get stronger. Bring your friends. The next one is going to be even bigger and even better.
Thank you all for helping us turn a simple idea into something that is truly making a difference.
