This week hasn’t quite been the start that we had wanted. Storms turned our pool brown, and we had to do lessons at a friends pool. We had almost fixed the pool, when another storm hit and took us back to square one. This caused us to have to cancel the rest of lessons for the week. After lots of time cleaning, and a large amount of chemicals, we finally have it clean and ready to go! While not the week we wanted, it has reminded us what a great community we are in! From people who helped clean the pool, to someone else letting us use their pool, to the amazing swim families this last week being so flexible and patient, we wanted to say thank you! We are excited to be back up and running this week with a solution to help our pool from turning brown again.

Cleaning is underway on the pool! Kyle Campbell has been up vacuuming since 5:30am to help us keep taking steps in the right direction! If you have lessons this morning and have not heard from us yet, please reach out. We are working hard to be back in the pool with you all!

The storm last night hit lessons with Lēla and Margaret hard. Our whole pool is brown right now, and we have had to cancel lessons for the day. We have begun the cleaning process and are hoping we will be back in the pool for lessons tomorrow! If you have lessons this week, stay tuned for updates.

There has been some concern about lessons this week, because of all the weather forecasted. We are still having lessons! We will do as many lessons as weather permits. We have strict rules in regards to lightning, but we will let you know as soon as we know anything. If you are coming in from farther away and would like to have the cut off time be sooner please let us know!

With our first week of swim lessons starting next week, we wanted to put out a little information about the timeframe. The week before your lessons start, you will get an email with all of the information. This will include address, price, time, and policies. If you do not get this email by 9:00am the Monday before your lessons, please reach out! The best way to contact us is to message through our page. Thank you!

We sold out at 12:17pm! We are so grateful for all of the support, and are very excited for the summer ahead! If you did not get spots this year you can reach out to us as we are creating a waitlist. This will be used if we have a cancellation or if something in my schedule would happen to open up. We thank you for your interest!

Welcome to Lessons with Lēla and Margaret! We are swim teachers located in Abilene, Kansas who teach both private and group lessons. We have over 10 years of competitive swim experience and are certified lifeguards. We work out of a private, heated pool!

Set your alarms and get ready! Our sign ups for our final season will be posted March 9th at 12:00pm! These are the lesson dates we will offer this year, please be aware there are less spots this summer, so you will need to be ready.

Lessons with Lēla and Margaret will be coming back for one final season with just Margaret. When talking this past year about what we were going to do, we realized we are about to enter the next stages of our lives and are at the perfect place to step back from swimming lessons. Margaret will be coming back for one final season before leaving for college to pursue a degree in nursing. She will also continue working as a CNA throughout this summer in addition to lessons. Lēla will be graduating in May with a degree in business finance and will be starting her job after that. Even though Lēla is not coming back this summer, we will not be changing the name or calling ourselves anything other than Lessons with Lēla and Margaret. This is because while Lēla may not be teaching this summer, it would not feel right not to have our names listed there together. The seven summers this swim business has been around have been full of some of the best moments of our lives! There are not enough words to describe how grateful we are to have had the opportunity to work with your kids throughout the years, make fun memories, and meet incredible families along the way. While it is sad for us knowing this is the last season of lessons with Lēla and Margaret, we are also very excited for what life has for us next. We will forever be proud that we get to say we started off as swim teachers and get to tell people about all of our fun stories and crazy memories! Thank you!
