Our event made it in today's Daily World. And with a big picture "above the fold" - even if it's on page A3 - and a small attention getter at the top of the front page.

There is a small article about our Open House, which will be on Saturday 29 August, from noon to five PM.

Grays Harbor Bowmen archers completed our International Round League on Monday 24 August 2026. Of those who started, a few dropped out, but fourteen of us completed all six rounds.

Standings were computed on a handicap basis, with each archer earning a handicap based on 80% of the difference between a perfect score (150) and their previous average. That handicap is then added to the next round's score.

Congratulations to Cathleen Quinton, Jesse Quinton, and Robert Allred as the top three finishers by handicap score, (with a tie between Jesse and Robert broken by the number of X-ring hits). Jesse Quinton shot the high scratch total.

We are looking forward to our Open House on Saturday, and will start an Indoor Blueface League in October (after hunting season).

Grays Harbor Bowmen members had fun again today shooting our International Round League. This was week 5 of 6, so next week will be the final, and some people have make-up rounds to catch up and finish out.

Here one group is shooting the last shot of the day, on the practice flat (the other shots are on targets 1-5 of the walk-through course).

We will take some time off until after Elk season, and then will move back indoors for a Blueface League.

Grays Harbor Bowmen members are continuing to enjoy our International Round League. We are two thirds of the way through (last night was week four of six). We had three groups of 4-5 archers each - some will be shooting make-up rounds on other days to catch up.

Note for all participants: with shorter hours of daylight / earlier sunsets, we will change the start time for the next two rounds to start at 6:00 PM instead of 6:30!

We are looking forward to the Open House on 29 August (12 Noon to 5 PM). We are expecting a good turnout. We will setup a beginner / lesson range in the field between the clubhouse and the highway which will be the starting point for participants (after they check in / execute liability waiver). There will be a fun balloon shoot in the indoor range, with "random" prizes. Archers can shoot increasing distances on the practice flat to determine their effective range, then shoot on the first five targets of the walk-through course from approximate stakes for their skill level.

We are making plans to start an Indoor Blueface League after Elk Season.

Find your effective range on the practice flat (20-60 yards). Use our loaner equipment or bring your own (subject to safety inspection).

Explore a short five-target walk-through course.

USA Archery certified instructors will be onsite to guide your experience.

Beautiful evening to launch some arrows!

Grays Harbor Bowmen members shot our third (of six) round for our International League tonight.

I didn't count, but I think there were 15 of us tonight.

Absolutely perfect weather, dry, warm and calm. It was still 71 degrees when we finished.

Grays Harbor Bowmen have over 1500 followers!

And over a third of us are female!

Annual dues is regularly $100 per family, but since we are in the second half of the year, new members can join for $50, covering from now through 31 December.

And if you live more than 50 miles from the range, our "Out of Area" dues is $35 per year.
