October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🎀
And if you’re tired of hearing my story, I get it. Some days, I’m tired of telling it too. It feels like a lifetime ago, and I am SO much more than a cancer survivor. Cancer does not define me.
But as a two-time breast cancer survivor, by the grace of God, I also know that I’ve been given the incredible privilege of still being here — and with that comes a responsibility to keep reminding others.
Please get your mammograms. Know your body. Do your self-checks.
I found both of my cancers myself through self-exams. In my doctor’s words, I saved my own life… but we all know who I give that credit to. God did that. 😉🙏🏼
I am by no means an expert, but I can tell you with complete certainty that early detection CAN save your life. Please don’t put it off. Make the appointment. Do the self-check. Pay attention when something doesn’t feel right.
And if you are walking through this right now, please know this:
You are not alone. 🩷
If you need someone to listen, someone to pray with you, someone to answer the questions I can answer from my own experience, or simply someone who understands the fear that can come with this diagnosis, please reach out to me. I may not have all the answers, but I will always do my best to be there, listen, encourage you, and remind you that you do not have to walk this road by yourself.
Please support the cause not just during October, but always. Cancer has no expiration date.
Together, we can continue doing whatever it takes to make sure no one fights alone. 🎀
