Dear Swimmers and Families,

What a way to kick off the season. Nothing like summer swim that feels more like a snow day. Thank you for showing up with big energy and bigger towels. We know it wasn’t exactly sunscreen weather.

Mother Nature clearly missed the memo that it’s summer, not sweater season, so today’s practice is canceled while she figures it out. Thanks so much for your patience.

We’re hoping for warmer weather by Thursday or Friday so we can finally celebrate with our Welcome Ice Cream Social. Because if we can’t count on the sun, we can at least count on sprinkles.

🏊‍♂️🐧 Penguin Swim Team 2025 Registration is OPEN! 🐧🏊‍♀️
Get ready to dive into an epic summer with the Aberdeen Penguins! Registration for the 2025 season is NOW OPEN! Please read through all the details—there are some changes this year.
Practice Schedule:
📅 PM Practices (Mon-Thurs)
Session 1 (10 & under): 5:15pm - 6pm
Session 2 (11 & older): 6pm - 7pm
First practice: Tuesday, May 27th
📅 AM Practices (Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri) - Starting June 23rd
Session 1 (10 & under): 8am - 9am
Session 2 (11 & older): 9am - 10am

💲 Registration Fees:
First swimmer: $125
Additional swimmers: $100 each
Snack bar fee: $30 (per family, automatically added at checkout)
👥 New Parent Meeting: Tuesday, May 27th @ 5:45pm under the pavilion. All parents welcome!
⚖️ Officials Needed: Help us out and get a registration discount! Reach out to Brittany if interested.

👕 Team Suits:
New supplier this year! Order between April 28 - May 4 to get reduced shipping and guaranteed arrival for the first meet.

🚨 NEW Volunteer Policy for 2025:
Every family is required to volunteer for at least 6 slots per season (1 slot = half a meet). A $50 deposit check (payable to BGC Aberdeen Penguins) is required by June 9th. If you meet the volunteer requirement, your check will be returned at the end of the season. If not, it will be deposited to support the team.

Maryland Department of the Environment has issued a CODE RED Air Quality Alert today for much of the Maryland area.
We take this Air Quality Alert very seriously and want our members to stay safe and healthy to be able to enjoy the pool all summer long.

Swim practice has been moved to Friday, June 16th @5:15-6:30
