Phil was my older brother for 77 years. We’re apart for now, but that ain’t nothing but a change of address for Phil. Watching The Blind come back to theaters this month hits me in a different way. It’s not just pictures and memories. It’s my brother’s life laid out for the world to see.

Look, we both made messes. But watching that movie, you can feel it all the way to your bones that no matter how far you fall, God will pick you up, dust you off, and make you right. There’s nothing he can’t do. And there’s nothing we can do to make him stop loving us.

Phli was embarrassed of his past, but he never let that get in the way of telling his story. He wanted every last one of you to know that God’s love and grace and forgiveness are for all of us.

So if you’ve never seen it, or even if you have, come with someone who needs to hear that message of hope. It’s not too late for any of us.
