The UBSA (formerly the Uganda Beach Football Clubs Association UBFCA) was officially admitted into the Federation of Uganda Football Clubs Association (FUFA) membership which resolution was announced on Sunday 20th May 2012 at the Inaugural National Women’s Beach Soccer Championships that was a precursor for next years Women’s League. By admission into the FUFA family, The UBSA is now part of the worldwide football/beach soccer family of associations recognised and supported by tFIFA Federation Internationale de Football –world beach soccer’s and football and governing body. Uganda’s beach soccer has been commended as the fast growing sport in not only Uganda but also on the African Continent. In response to this trend, FIFA sent a delegation of instructors and trainers in December 2011 who trained coaches and referees in this sport. Another delegation is expected in March 2013 to provide administrators, Referes and coaching courses to ensure that the sport is grounded in professionalism.
