We had ground and door to door distribution of scholastic materials and other back to school necessities last Saturday at the The Ghetto Film Project and it was so mich fun. We partnered with Fuel My Dream, Play House and African Dream we had hair cutting as well fpr the kids to go back to school looking 👌🏽. We want to extend our gratitude to everyone that came through and helped with whatever they could.

Always fun seeing the happy faces of the little ones😊

WHY AFRICA HAS TO TELL IT'S OWN STORIES.

Here is an unofficial poster for our 2D animation feature titled Njabala;a native Buganda and Bantu folklore. A production by Nes Motion Media collaborating with Wooofbunny, the production of this story is fully done on African soil but 100% an African team.

Now statistics show the power of storytelling through motion picture but particularly animation stands out for me. Animation is a medium that can be consumed by all demographs in terms of Age,Gender,Race etc and as well a great way to tell African stories that would be so hard to recreate based on time they take place,locations,costume,props etc. The question is, why then is there just 2 animation films by African's all this while?

It is important for Africans to tell their own stories as we don't imagine how it happened because we lived through it;we understand the context in which a story is told and not just how the story goes... We understand the narrative.

As Nes Motion Media, we aspire to create and recreate African stories with Social,Cultural and Historic significance. Stories that might not be commercially looked at are the stories we find great value and importance in.

We are here for our weekly Saturday program as we have always done for the past 8 years. The kids program as usual includes Chess, Volleyball,Music, Beatboxing,Reading story books,fine art while the youth program as usual revolves around our film masterclass that is in its 6th week for the class of 2020.

Last Saturday we had our 3rd day of class for our current 2020 film class. We are so excited embarking on this journey with these creative minds.

WE ARE FINALLY BACK TO SCHOOL

3 months ago Gloria Marin came up with an idea to make Christmas cards with our Art Class that would be sold to raise funds for scholastic materials for our children and wow here we are. Gloria successfully sold the cards in Spain to raise scholastic materials for over 300kids in school.

A week ago, all our kids started the school term with books,pencils,pens and other scholastics just like any other kids.

We are so grateful to all that bought our cards to support us.

Happy new year folks, here to celebrate with you the new year is us. Application for our annual film masterclass is open and deadline for application is January 30th 2020.

The 8 months masterclass that happens every Saturday will cover Screenwriting, Cinematography, Directing, Editing and Producing. Classes happen every Saturday from 2pm in Naguru and are free of charge.

As the rest of the world celebrated Christmas, to is Christmas came even earlier. We had face painting,ice cream,gifts,shared a meal and cake and had lots of fun together. The smiles on the faces of over 200 kids that shared in this occasion are just a simple reminder that Christmas isn't just about eating and drinking but rather sharing these little precious moments together.

Special thanks goes to everyone that made this possible most especially digital influencer who once again mobilized resources to make this happen.

Christmas is here🥰🥰😍

Our kids under the supervision of Irene Namatovu a volunteer and film student and Gloria a guest from Spain made these amazing Christmas cards from Backcloth, Paper and Kitengi that are now available at Design Hub Kampala. Pass by and pick up one for yourself 🥰🥰🥰

The proceeds from Cards sales goes to throwing an amazing Christmas party for the over 200 kids in the slums of Naguru, gift them with scholastic materials for next term and reward our best performing students. Buy a card and raise a smile😜😜😜
